Notice the word: ANOTHER?

John 14:16
And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;

another means = another one.
if the comforter is the holyspirit as John has claimed, then why would Jesus call the holyspirit with another?

**why did Jesus says ANOTHER comforter? and not the same comforter?

Because Jesus was telling the truth.
Jesus was followed by Muhammad in the Abraham tradition.
Judaism, Christianity and Islam are all brothers, suckled at the
same breast.
There are some that say Muhammad is the comforter
mentioned by Jesus.

AL Quran - chapter 2 Verse 87 - Jusuf Ali Translation

We gave Moses the Book and followed him up with a succession of apostles; We gave Jesus the son of Mary Clear (Signs) and strengthened him with the holy spirit. Is it that whenever there comes to you an apostle with what ye
yourselves desire not, ye are puffed up with pride?- Some ye called impostors, and others ye slay!

Have a blessed day.

Well, this is when Jesus is talking to his disciples just before his death on the cross. Even though the disciples didn't really understand the fullness of all that was about to transpire, Jesus wanted to let them know that His leaving was not going to be the end for them. Jesus was all the only part of the trinity that they had interacted with on a personal and daily basis. He was letting them know that he would no longer be on the Earth walking among them, but that the Holy Spirit would come to comfort them in. The disciples came to depend on Jesus, as we all do, and Jesus obviously knew that they (and we) need someone to help us with the struggles of life. The Holy Spirit is ANOTHER part of the trinity. They all together make up one God, but they also have their own seperate roles.

May I try to explain this in a way that might be of some help to you.
When Jesus was born and he was a baby. Did he not have a human form. Like we do. He was just as human as you and I. One difference. He was also the son of God. Perfect in spirit. He was the only one that was pure in heart like His heavenly Father-God. He died on the cross and you know the rest. When the angels moved the rock from his tomb and he was not there. He later prepared his apostles for his going back to heaven to be with his Father-God. The apostles were afraid of being left alone with out Jesus. They probably had their doubts about what to do with out Jesus Christ. Jesus was refering to the Holy Ghost. The Holy Ghost is our compforter. When we are scared at night have bad dreams or our little brother or sister, and we run to them to compfort them it is the same principle. The Holy Spirit also guides us. To let us know what is right, and wrong. What is good and bad. The Holy Spirit also is with us at all times this is our compfort or security blanket might be better for you to understand.
One day we will meet Jesus and God until we do the Holy Ghost - Holy Spirit, will help us to stay on the path of righteousness. All we have to do is keep the faith. Walk in God's grace, and Mercy. John 3:16 and the Holy Ghost is there to hold our hand when we need it.

be conscious he did not say..."and that i visit wish the daddy, and he shall provide you a pacesetter who will first kill you a number of then you definately convert. he will then write a set of letters and they are going to be considered holier than even the words I practice. all and distinctive will obey him. have self assurance his written words inspite of if the Comforter tells you in a special way" human beings ignore that Jesus gave us the present of Spirit. From then on, his Spirit might want to discover position in the middle of immediately ahead human beings, somewhat than merely divine beings. Jesus grow to be a comforter, as fortold in scripture. in fact he grow to be referred to as The Comforter. The Holy Spirit might want to be yet another Comforter who might want to abide continually because Jesus grow to be really constrained on the time at the same time with his flesh and the mortality difficulty it supplies you.

Jesus was with them, and He was telling them that He must go, therefore another Comforter is the Holy Ghost. Remember that there is one God consisting of three The Father, The Son and The Holy Ghost.

Read a little further in the passage and Jesus clues you in to your answer.

"I will not leave you comfortless, I will come to you."

Notice the "I" part. The Holy Ghost is Jesus. God is not three, God is One. Jesus is God manifest in the flesh and God is a Spirit. The Holy Ghost is the Spirit of God/Jesus. Jesus said He was coming to you as another comforter. Another form of God. Another manifestation of the same God. God is only one person, not three co-equal co-majestic beings as some teach. God is indivisbly ONE! Feel free to email me for more information.

Until Jesus's Crucifixion the holy spirit wasn't available to everyone. Jesus(the Bridegroom) was the comforter. After his death another was sent to ease the people's distress. Peace.

It is the holy spirit. The course in miracles is a recent revelation of the teachings of Jesus and it also describes the holy spirit in this same way.

I have a comforter that is just about shot. I have not washed it in a while and it is cotton.
I have faith that God is going to send me a ballistic nylon comforter with stain resistant Teflon that will last forever.
So, there you have it, the true interpretation of the Biblical passage and a messianic prophecy about nylon and Teflon.
