One of my close co-workers (known for 6 years) father past away and the wake is tomorrow---however I already have plans to go to a baseball game and if I go to the wake there is no way possible for me to get to the game (tickets paid for already and everything). I am sending flowers to the funeral home---is this OK? I feel extremely guilty, however I've had these other plans for a couple months. I've never even met her father. Is it rude for me to not go? Help!

In the book of Revelation it speaks of a "little flock" and also a "great crowd". It looks as though positive things are supposed to happen to these two groups. What is the difference between these two groups and what is supposed to happen to them?

If no, please explain to us why just because Steve isn't mentioned in Genesis means he didn't exist.

it's funny to be given a certain label you never knew you had, and then be judged on it. Is it so hard to look past our differences- it seems so trivial...

I've been on my path for a long time and I think I have lost sight of the answer. The closer I am, the further I am away. It brings to mind a book I read a couple of times, "Abandonment to Divine Providence"' by Jean-Pierre de Caussade.

The answer?

Many people in Y!A Religion and Spirituality have expressed that the reason they are so urgent to convert others to their faith is because they are ordered to. It is true that Jesus did command his followers to go into all the world, spreading the good news. But he also gave specific instruction on how to "draw all people unto him." Does his specific instruction on "how to" oppose the accepted method of conversion? Jesus didn't tell his followers to tell others that they would burn in hell if they don't follow christ. Jesus didn't tell his followers to point out all of humanity's shortcomings to bring about conversion. Jesus didn't tell his followers to quote scripture until boredom induced coma takes over.

Do any of you know the specific instruction Jesus gave on how to draw EVERYBODY to him?

Do you care? Or is it more fun to be a stumbling block to others instead of following christ's instruction? Remember, if you are not with him, you are against him.

I am going to a party in about 2 weeks at a close friends house but, I won't know a lot of people there and I am worried of how they might judge me. Most people at the party are in university or college while I am married and still completing my high school but we are all the same age. I don't care what they think about me, but how should I defend myself if anyone puts me down? Because even people I know look down upon me since I married young and I just stopped talking to them (due to other reasons as well.) Please be respectful in your answers because nobody knows my current situation.

Judge Braswell Dean on Evolution. With Judges like this, we should be very afraid.
"...this monkey mythology of Darwin is the cause of permissiveness, promiscuity, prophylactics, perversions, pregnancies, abortions, pornotherapy, pollution, poisoning and proliferation of crimes of all types."
[Judge Braswell Dean, in Time Magazine, March 1981]

Rev. R. Furman, D.D. on owning slaves, strike up another one for religion.

David Muralt, another village without their idiot

No, I am not anti-Jesus. Yes, I believe anyone could believe in anything they want as long as it does not hurt anyone else. I am a very unorthodox Christian with a Philosophy degree and I just have a sense of humor. What would he say? Maybe "To Hell with this place!"
