with destructive vengence? And, this destruction is vented either on the "sinner" or on "God's" innocent son? Why would such a god be worthy of worship?

I prefer to think that I'm only human and that's why I make the mistakes and have the occasional bad thought, not because I'm inherently evil or "sinful". It's taken me a long way to get here, but I'm finally letting go of the low self esteem that resulted in years of being told I'm a bad person by these people.

God gave us all a free will. We have the choice to either disobey Him and be punished to hell or obey and be blessed and live eternally in heaven. The creation of us would not be as valuable to him if we were just robots who loved him because he told us to. With the free will, we can love him by our own free will and that is what he desires.
He did'nt MAKE Jesus die for us. He could have taken himself from the cross but he instead stayed there by his own free will.

Hmmmm.... We were given a choice... it is pretty much all or nothing... except... we have Jesus as Judge... and if we accept Jesus as our Savior... and we try our best to follow the commandments while upon this earth... then Jesus will make us perfect... and he will not remember our sins on the day of Judgement...

it is YOUR choice... God gave us Free Will... and he will not take it away from us... but... even though you can choose what to do... you do not get to choose the consequences of your actions.

ok God is 100% just, he will reward everyone according to thier actions!

of course, NO ONE can stand against God and be guiltless, we are all guilty... thats why God sent Jesus! to die for our sins that we may be forgiven in the sight of God. God gives us free will, so we can choose to disobey Him, or chose to be forgiven! thats why God is worthy of worship, He created you, me, the world, and gave His son for us, that we may live!!

Where do you people get this stuff? Did you make that up in your own head or is that something you read? God doesn't punish he is all forgiving....even for God-haters like yourself who don't know any better.

You are choosing to view God in that light.

Don't worship anything unless you want to and believe in what you are doing.

Mormon 4: 5 But, behold, the judgments of God will overtake the wicked; and it is by the wicked that the wicked are punished; for it is the wicked that stir up the hearts of the children of men unto bloodshed.

Yes, eventually (in the LONG run) everyone will reap what they sow. Sometimes sooner, sometimes later...

D&C 6: 33 Fear not to do good, my sons, for whatsoever ye sow, that shall ye also reap; therefore, if ye sow good ye shall also reap good for your reward.

I think the misunderstanding that comes up is that this is not all there is (this short life we have on earth). If a person or group of people here is stopped from sinning (by being destroyed in the flesh)...then in the Post-Mortal Spirit world they will have to suffer LESS...So in the long run it is actually the more MERCIFUL thing to do. (not vengeance)
Ex: In the time of Noah ...every man's heart and mind was lifted up in wickedness continually....therefore every single second they lived they were reaping more condemnation and punishment for themselves for later...by having the flood...they stopped sinning (on earth)...and perhaps started repenting in the Spirit world...and here is the great part

Through the power of Jesus Christ all men will be resurrected. Jesus Christ chose to save us...because He loved us so much...and Heavenly Father of course did not want to sacrifice Him...but it is proof to us how much He loves us...without Jesus Christ and the power of the atonement we would have been doomed, having no way to overcome spiritual death.

2 Nephi 2:5 And men are instructed sufficiently that they know good from evil. And the law is given unto men. And by the law no flesh is justified; or, by the law men are cut off. Yea, by the temporal law they were cut off; and also, by the spiritual law they perish from that which is good, and become miserable forever.
6 Wherefore, redemption cometh in and through the Holy Messiah; for he is full of grace and truth.
7 Behold, he offereth himself a sacrifice for sin, to answer the ends of the law, unto all those who have a broken heart and a contrite spirit; and unto none else can the ends of the law be answered.
2 Ne. 2: 8 Wherefore, how great the importance to make these things known unto the inhabitants of the earth, that they may know that there is no flesh that can dwell in the presence of God, save it be through the merits, and mercy, and grace of the Holy Messiah, who layeth down his life according to the flesh, and taketh it again by the power of the Spirit, that he may bring to pass the resurrection of the dead, being the first that should rise.

God is a God of mercy, but He is also a God of justice...He cannot just conveniently ignore broken laws...

Alma 42: 25 What, do ye suppose that mercy can rob justice? I say unto you, Nay; not one whit. If so, God would cease to be God.

So that is why Jesus Christ is so necessary He is our bridge of mercy...or else we will have to suffer the pains of justice for all of our sins. He is the only one who never sinned -therefore He is the only one worthy to have any claim...and also He is the only one who had the POWER to overcome death...which He inherited from His Father. It is all part of the great plan of Salvation.

D&C 19:16 For behold, I, God, have suffered these things for all, that they might not suffer if they would repent;
17 But if they would not repent they must suffer even as I;
18 Which suffering caused myself, even God, the greatest of all, to tremble because of pain, and to bleed at every pore, and to suffer both body and spirit—and would that I might not drink the bitter cup, and shrink—

So therefore in summary:it is LOVE and mercy that are the motivations of God...not vengeance. And because of His great love which Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ have for us I certainly deem them worthy to worship and adore.

It's easier than taking responsibility for one's life and being personally accountable for one's actions.
