Live with less.. Back in the day, when people did not have all that we do today, there was a closer relationship at home with loved ones. Advancments in technology, and everyone's daily Starbucks have somehow jaded our lives.

If we're smart about it, we can maintain a very similar lifestyle without using 'vast resources'. There is no real reason why the whole world cannot live as well as we do. All they require is the same freedom we had to begin with.

People don't need to use vast resources to maintian their lifestyles. A few chages here and there.. you could live the same way you do, and save the earth.

Americans are not about to deliberately lower their standard of living, nor is anyone else on this earth. However, we can and should take reasonable steps to improve the environment and to help those that can't help themselves.
Simple idea #1 - Change the 150 watt incandescent lamp that you use a lot to a spiral-tube fluorescent that pulls 37 watts. Great for environment, more than pays for itself, provides a nice mellow light, won't cook and split your lampshade, isn't hot to sit near, and lasts about 7 years. Wal-Mart sells them.
