Evolution vs Creationism

There are those all my life who have told me I must choose between God and Evolution, and if I choose evolution I am not being saved.

Genesis 2.7 says God made Adam out of dust in the ground. This to me is figurative, that I am insignificant like dust, except for the hand of God creating me and making me significant.
Moses did not have a microscope.

God is the creator, praise to God.

But why must my salvation be dependent on a literal interpretation of Genesis 1:26-27, or 2:7.

God made the world using science. Wether it was by his own hand using dust and clay, or through the process of evolution (which incidently, starts off with dust and clay, or some equivalent symbiosis of non-life elements).

Jesus came for remission of sin.

It is not a sin to believe in evolution.

What are your thoughts.

Only serious posts. I believe in those things but have never seen one myself. I am interested in reading about real testimonies. Be as detailed as you can. I know some will post stupidities, but I appreciate the real ones. Thanks.

I an very interested in learnig more about wicca and other sects of paganism. Can someone please give me some general info and refer me to good website or books to learn more. I would especially like to know more about the origin of Wicca. I know that it is a spin on old pagan ideas created by Gardener in the 1950's, but what are these ancient ideas this religion is based on? Aslo do only wiccans practice magik, what excactly is magik, and what other rituals and beliefs do pagans/wiccans practice? What gods and godesses do they worship and why? What are some good books and tools to start with? Please only serious answers from people with years of knowledge in this area. No offens to christians, but no bible quotes please!

I was just wondering why when a fundementalist sees something on TV they find objectionable they don't either turn off the TV or change the radio station they call the FCC. Now I think Howard Stern is a moron carering to the lowest common denomenator but I have the sense to change the station to say Bob and Tom. But now they can't play some of the best bits because a portion of the population can't figure out how to work the channel changer. So if you are one of these clean up the airwaves types let me know what your rational is.

I'm just kind of curious and not wanting to shove religion down anyones throat... but does anyone who does not believe in God ever get scared they could be wrong and in turn suffer the consequences of not believing?

I already know that historially Jews were the tax collectors during in Feudal Europe, a job that, I am sure inspired much hatred and fear. But what elements existed from that time until modern day which supported and maintained dislike and distrust for centuries?

I'm getting married in September and my mom is paying for the rehearsal dinner. The groom's family is from out of state and they never offered. My mom is all bitter because it took out of the wedding budget.

Also, as a result, we can't invite many out of town guests.. only the wedding party and my fiance's immediate family. I know that my fiance's family can't afford to pay for the rehearsal dinner, but I see my mom's point--they could have at least said something, because now we have to arrange it all last minute.

What is the best way to handle the situation? What do I say to out of state guests who ask about it but are not invited? What do I say to my mom? Should I say anything about it to my fiance's family? I do not want to make them feel bad, but I am afraid my mom should say something.

I don't know what to make of it, but some friends of mine, who are pagan, seem to think that I am not devout enough. Due to being on different spiritual paths, I have declined participation in certain rituals, but they do not seem to accept my reason. (I would never insult them by declining an invitation to a handfasting or naming ceremony, but my beliefs do not include using or manipulating the power of nature in any way, and theirs do.) Advice?

It involves me and my crush and my friend who moved away ages ago and I haven't seen for at least three years. We were sitting in a classroom which was also a grocery store. He was sitting on my left and she (my friend) was on my right. I kept asking my friend questions about our college (we don't go to the same college but in the dream we did.) I was excited because we were both doing art. My crush was asking me questions but it was hard to talk to both of them. Then my friend thought my crush was fit so she moved over to him and was leaning over him and he liked it. but I didn't. He went away for a bit and I said to her 'please don't do that' and I was telling her I really liked him. Then he was talking to my friend and hardly talking to me. Also at the end people stared throwing fruit (I think thats irrelevant) What do you think it means?
