isn't it wird that jews and even some christians have unquestionable beleif that jewish race is special race, that they are
prefered by God uncondidtionally over any other people ? doesn't it
contradict with beleiving that God is fair ?or with beleiving in equality among peoples?
and do they have this advantage regardless what they do to anybody else?

This seems to be shown with the hatred they show when England are in any sporting event , however the English generally give support to them on the rare occasions they qualify for anything

If you could live forever but you were the only one, would you? How would you cope when everyone you knew died and left you?

I am a Catholic wife and mother and I believe in the husband being the head of the household. He is the head and I am the heart. I believe it is a lot like our U.S. Government. There is a president and a Congress. Just an example. He discusses things with me and makes a decission based on this. I only take a stand when I feel it is the of the utmost importance which is rarely. I have found we live a happier more peaceful life. I am not suggesting this for all just that it works for us.

Lou’s Logic

Lou was an ancient Chinese philosopher and monk who subsisted on alms (offerings) given by common folks. He used to wander among laymen and the common people. During his lifetime he must have encouraged more than a hundred million people throughout the World and taught them how to lead valuable lives.

One such day, when he along with his followers was wandering the jungles, he came across a huge gigantic tree. This tree was not cut and all its branches were un touched. Lou was surprised. All other trees in the forest were cut and used for fire wood to cook food in the nearby villages, except this one. He sent his people to enquire why this tree was not cut. His men came back and reported that this was one tree nobody could never touch...because it was so huge that more than ten thousand people could sit underneath its big shade, take rest and then resume their journey (you see there was no means of transport in those early days).

He then summoned all his followers and held a sermon (preaching). He said “be like this tree and try to give people solace (comfort) even if it means at the cost of your own life. Never be competitive, there is no need. Be simple and be just ordinary. If you are beautiful, you would be cut or chopped or sold in the market. You would end up being beautiful furniture in someone's house. If you are not beautiful, like this tree, you could be of use to so many people. People can sit under your shade, enjoy and relax, before they muster enough strength to undertake the remaining part of their journey. Children could play in its shade, birds could build nests, lay eggs, sit over them till they hatch, nurture their little ones, bring them up by feeding them the worms or other creatures in the tree, monkeys could play with their loved ones and teach the younger ones how to climb, wild animals could hide in its bark before they jump to catch the prey, their little ones could sharpen their claws on the bark of the tree, lovers could meet in solitude and understand each other better,......so be useful to others and be a part of L I F E. Move in this World as though you were not there....be like this Tree !!".

Lou's men attended to the sermon very carefully and then carried on with their work. This indeed was a turning point in their own lives...they learnt something about life!! Have a great day!!!!

Why does the Christian or muslim feel the need to try and convert people to their religion (I've seen more Christians actively do it in the USA than muslims, I have not seen jews do it period)....if you tell them not interested..they say crap like "you won't be saved" and that stuff how come they can't live and let live..and respect peoples rights to practice what they want?

I work in a front office for a medical office where everyone works in an open environment, meaning we aren't in cubicles or individual offices - everyone can hear everyone speak. I'm not at all concerned whether or not they are talking about me per se, but myself and a number of my non-Spanish speaking co-workers thinks that it is extremely rude. I have commented a number of times to them that I think it is rude, but they just smile as if I am kidding.

I think it is really rude and classless - what do others think? If you agree how could this be handled discreetly? I don't want them to think that I am snitching on them to management, but this has to end - it's very irritating.

Buddhists seem to think there is something non-material about the mind. But surely the mind is just the brain, or maybe a program running on the brain? Humans are machines - biological computers or automata. The universe does not require our existence - we are accidents of evolution. Our minds cease to exist when the brain dies.

I live in Atlanta Georgia. There are lots of things to do here but having been here all of my life I would like to try another city. I like south Florida, somewhere on the coast. What do you like or dislike about where you live?
