The signs of the end times are almost completed. The ones not yet completed are

1. The good news of God's Kingdom has not yet been fully preached throughout the inhabited earth.

2. The nations have not yet turned over complete control to govern the world to the United Nations.

3. "when they are shouting "peace, peace" has not yet occurred

4. The empire of false religion has not yet been destroyed by the United Nations.

5. They have not yet turned on the true worshipers of God. That will happen after they have destroyed the empire of false religion.

Matthew Chapter 24 gives the composite signs of the last days. 2Timothy 3:1-4 shows how people will be acting toward one another during the last days.

Revelation shows the finial step by step conclusion of the end of this system under Satan. Revelation is just that for those of understanding. It discloses all the different aspects of the end times and who are the players.

Mt24:21for then there will be great tribulation such as has not occurred since the world's beginning until now. No nor will occur again.22 in fact unless those days were cut short no flesh would be saved. But on account of the chosen ones those days will be cut short.
Before this time period no matter how vicious the war or how extensive some flesh, even a roach would live. But now we could have a nuclear war that nothing would survive.
How did the profit know we would reach this time period.
The other answer about religion, the governments will turn on religion. Then God will step in because it says the slaughter would be great.
