I already know that historially Jews were the tax collectors during in Feudal Europe, a job that, I am sure inspired much hatred and fear. But what elements existed from that time until modern day which supported and maintained dislike and distrust for centuries?

This is third hand information so I don't know how accurate it is. The source of the info was someone who lived in Germany just before the war started. He said that the Jews were financially well off, but kept to themselves and so the economic power was with them and not shared with the rest of the ethnic groups. If I'm not mistaken, he also said that non-Jews were viewed with disdain, as the non-chosen and therefore inferior people. And I think perhaps due to this, the rest of the population weren't too keen on them. But I'm not really sure, haven't actually done studies on that time period myself...just stuff that I heard.

not cow-towing to the Pope is one. Being different is another. Jews kept to their own communities and didn't mix much. Some of this was because of the various kings wanting to keep the Jews seperate, as well.

There's also some crap in the New Testament that blames Jews for Jesus' death. Or at least it was interpreted that way. I'd like to know how that whole thing would have played out if Jesus WASN'T killed. Then how could he have "died for your sins"? or been resurrected 3 days later?

Societies need scapegoats. And Jews were very convenient targets at the time.

jews should blame christianity for this. about 350 ac when the constantine ruled rome, the official religion was the cult of sun (solus invicti). at this time christianity came to europe and it became the religion of rome, which was the greatest empire at that time and covered most of europe. the bible was revised by the emperor (constantine) in such a manner so the blame for the death of jesus would be taken from romans and brought to jews. otherwise the center of christianity couldn't be rome. after that time the hatred towards the jews has been initiated, and history went on. then you have the Protocols... if you want to know more about this, please contact me

Scapegoatism. Someone has to be blamed for all the ills of society and they were "it". Guess who the scapegoat is in Europe and America now?

Christians don't like anyone who isn't Christian. That's the bottom line.
