I do not know. I think that in order to become a Shriner you have to have "advanced" in lower orders of Freemasonry.

I would think at least twice about becoming a Freemason. It is an evil cult of theft. Many prominent politicians throughout the world are Freemasons, and look at the trouble they have the world in! Many of the foundingfathers of the American Constituation who signed the Declaration of Independence were alleged Freemasons. Please note the slave trade and the ripping off to downright plundering of their own people as well as others.

You could get hold of Ray Stevens' CD titled 'Lassoes 'n Spurs' and listen to the song called 'Shriners Convention' before you think seriously about becoming one. I do not think that they like the song, but it does hit home. I do not think you can just join them because they are described as "higher order Freemasons". Much of their behaviour is not higher order at all. It is very base. e.g. hiring strippers at their conventions, as they have done in Canada, hosting circuses where they are responsible for animal abuse
