Have you noticed how spoiled and demanding people are now? If they can't get what they want (even if they didn't pay for it, or deserve it) they throw tantrums like children. Curious to hear any theories about why it is people are increasingly becoming more and more pretentious, snotty, condescending, and ungrateful.

Okay I was just reading something in the Relationship section about Mormons rushing into marriage, apparently because of the strictness of sexual expressions and emphasis on marriage.

Apparently Mormons take marriage seriously however according to the Christian religion marriage and sex is a big deal, but why does it seem like some denominations are stricter with the practice than others?

When I say strict on sex, I mean strict about waiting.

Imagine knowing that members of your family are valuable merchandise and could be shipped to a distant land to perform forced labor! To me as a Catholic Christian I consider it sinful to destroy this planet that God has given us. I believe that it is our responsibility as humans and as Christians to properly care for our home. I mean isn't it an insult to an artist if the caretaker of that art does not treat it correctly but scribbles on it and trashes it?

There is a local rally to be able to keep some Islamic people for building a mosque in a predominantly Christian (Baptisit) neighborhood. One of the local preachers, went on the news and stated that he does not want these people in his neighborhood because they preach hate. Now, I personally feel that he is being hypocritical. He is going against people who "teach hate" when he is doing the same thing. I'm not Islamic but I don't believe all Islamic people are hateful terrorists. I think that is the most ignorant thing someone could say. I would never go to this man's church and he should not call himself a preacher.

We can produce world class leaders like MM Lee or even PM Lee but somehow in areas of sports, entertainment, business etc, we are not even close to our neighbours. We can even produce world class academics like Dr. Tony Tan, excel in Mathematics and Science globally, but it seems that's all we can do as Singaporeans. Is Singapore just an academic society where only the best scholars get the best jobs? Are we regressing into a society where only good academic results counts ? No creativity, no genius like Albert Einstein but only people who are groomed from young to work for goverment organisations and the MNCs?
