Imagine knowing that members of your family are valuable merchandise and could be shipped to a distant land to perform forced labor! If you lived in a world where slavery exists, you might develop a new ATTITUDE ABOUT THE SWEETNESS OF FREEDOM AND THE VALUE OF LIFE! What do you think of this??... I know slavery doesn't even come to the point in the world we are living now... but I want to know what people's opinions.

You realize that the immigration issue in the US these days is essentially one of modern slavery, right? The American economy has always relied on cheap/free labour in order to compete in even the most basic way with the rest of the world. It used to be black slaves but now it's dirt cheap mexican labour. If the USA was forced to pay all these people the legal minimum wage, the American economy would collapse. Hell, even Walmart relies on the slave labour markets in foreign markets to make their profits.

You had all better pray that modern slavery is here to stay or life may get pretty damn tough in the very near future.

The Muslims were kidnapping women and girls and forcing them into slavery and mostly killing the males in Sudan for the past several years. I value my freedom, and thank God and our military for it.

It already happen to both sides of my family's ancestors so, it's not hard to fathom or to be afraid of.
