She asks why, and we told her that we are not Christian. She keeps asking "But aren't you going to raise your daughter as a Christian?". She doesn't seem to understand that since we are not Christian, we would prefer not to raise out daughter as one. We live in fly-over land where people are pretty much just considered Christian by default.

We are agnostic.

People whose screen names have any reference to christianity, such as JESUS IS LOVE or God's Servant, are complete idiots?

Someone had a car accident at the intersection of our cul de sac and it was raining and she was really upset and had her 5 or 6 year old in the car with her. Fortunately noone was hurt, but she was still there about an hour or so after the incident waiting for the police and so even though she had declined my initial offer of help I sent my husband out with something to drink and crackers because it was past the dinner hour. It made me feel as though I had done something kind for someone regardless of their circumstances and/or pride. My husband said she cried at the gesture. Human kindness should be expected, not come as a surprise.

I want to know why a Mormon cannot answer a ? for themselves with out going to their parent, bishop etc, and why when you ask them a ? they get defensive like, "why do you go to church for 4 hours?" and why if they are so loving does the church tell it's members not to talk to family mmbers and friends that disgree with the religion or question it?
I am speaking from experience here. All the above I have asked.
The first I never got an answer to when I asked a person I know well what she really believed she said she would have to have her mother tell me.
I am christian and if you ask me what I believe, I will tell you. you may not agree but at least I can tell you.
I asked another person what they do for all that time and they got mad, would not talk to me. I did not imply anything I simply asked "what do you do there all that time?"
The last one,
I lost a good friend to this religion because when I asked her about ?ble things her bishop told her to not talk to me anymore.

What else shouldn't people do?

Don't let cattle graze with other kinds of Cattle (Leviticus 19:19)

Don't have a variety of crops on the same field. (Leviticus 19:19)

Don't wear clothes made of more than one fabric (Leviticus 19:19)

Don't cut your hair nor shave. (Leviticus 19:27)

Any person who curseth his mother or father, must be killed. (Leviticus 20:9) Have you ever done that?

If a man cheats on his wife, or vise versa, both the man and the woman must die. (Leviticus 20:10). I wonder if Dr. Laura would like that one to be enforced?

If a man sleeps with his father's wife... both him and his father's wife is to be put to death. (Leviticus 20:11)

If a man sleeps with his wife and her mother they are all to be burnt to death. (Leviticus 20:14)

If a man or woman has sex with an animal, both human and animal must be killed. (Leviticus 20:15-16). I guess you should kill the animal since they were willing participants. Are they crazy?

How many of you were brought up in one faith and had that hammered into your brains that that was the one and only "true" path - only now to find themselves questioning and searching? How many feel guilt about doing so? Do you have an experience to share on this subject? Thanks!

Since the show Big Love came out, I've noticed that there's been a lot of media coverage of plural marriage. Then the FBI pur Warren Jeffs on the 10 Most Wanted List. Has anyone had experience in a Morman group that recognizes plural marriage and/or been part of a plural marriage family? It wasn't somthing I thought about before, but watching that show made me think about the belief and wonder how "real" people deal with the lifestyle. Thanks for sharing.
