God. "Take your son, your only son – yes, Isaac, whom you love so much – and go to the land of Moriah. Sacrifice him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains, which I will point out to you." (Genesis 22:1-18) Abraham takes his own son up on a mountain and builds an altar upon which to burn him. He even lies to his son and has him help build the altar. Then Abraham ties his son to the altar and puts a knife to his throat. He then hears God tell him this was just a test of his faith. However, God still wanted to smell some burnt flesh so he tells Abraham to burn a ram.

Even though he didn't kill his son, it is still an incredibly cruel and evil thing to do. If Abraham did that today he would be in jail serving a long sentence as someone's prison-b*tch. It amazes me how Christians see this story as a sign of God's love. There is no love here, just pure unadulterated evil.

If he/she continues to sin after recognizing that Jesus is his saviour or God and died for his past,present and future sins.
One reason might be that he/she feels himself safe to continue sinning bcoz he/she is saved.

Ok, I asked a question before regarding the jews going to hell. so are they if they rejected Jesus or aren't they? some of you sound like Jews are the "apple" of God's eye and even if they do reject Jesus, they obide by "moses law" so they might have a chance to get on the narrow path?

Did anyone see the news in Britain yesterday? Did you see the interview with J K Rowling and how she is seriously thinking about killing Harry Potter in the final book! I can understand her point that after the books are finished she doesn't want another author to come along and re-write the character but why kill him? Is God not most merciful? How can Jesus be the son of God, when God is not a human being? Why would God need a sacrifice, (of such a high magnitude), if he is all forgiving? If Jesus is the son of God, who was Adam, and why did Jesus come after Adam, Abraham, Noah and Moses? If our sins have been "paid for", why are we still sinning?? Why is there such a thing as "hell", or even "heaven", if God has already forgiven us because Jesus supposedly died for our "salvation"? Why did Jesus himself, never claim to be the "son" of God?? If he was the son, who was Mary?? Would she be God's wife? If Jesus is the son because he performed miracles, why is Moses not the son? He performed miracles to. God is not a human being, so why do christians attribute human characteristics to him?? Who is the Holy Spirit?? Why is there need of a Holy Spirit? Why does God need someone to die inorder to forgive our sins?? Where is the accountability in all of this?? So is noone a sinner?? Confused, please help!

I swear they must be hanging rom the ceilings in my bedroom. Are these mean atheists little bats that are hanging in the ceilings ? They say they know what I saw rather than what I say I saw. There are so many established facts about the earth (that even the creationists can deny) that run contrary to what the bible says.

If we were to believe the creationists we should believe that the earth has shrunk to become much smaller than the sun, and has taken to circling the latter, instead of vice versa, as originally established. Furthermore (confirming its sinful nature), it has floated up off its pillars or foundations, lost its four corners, and become a silly ball, on which there just is no possible mountaintop from which one could see all nations of the Earth.

Not to mention those silly clouds that seem to have replaced the "doors" in the firmament that let the rain through.

I wonder how many creationists will claim these are only metaphors. If this is the case, are you allowed to pick and choose which bits of the bible are metaphors and which bits are to be taken literally ?

Regardless of time or location, many Christians try to proselytize or "witness" to you, what do you say or do? How does it make you feel when you are treated as "unsaved", "evil", "in need of guidance", or "need to find God"? How does it make you feel when you tell them that they are soliciting and their presence is unwarranted and not wanted and they say something like, "Okay. Well, have a blessed day."? Please give an example of what you would say. I have too many JW's knocking down my door.
