y do ppl always argue agains christianity? no one cares about the other religions but they want to cry b/c when someone tells them merry christmas, "Christ" was in that....i mean i just want to kno y......

Ladies, I want to tell you thank you for everything that you do for us men. The way you cook us a delicious meal, the way you take care of the children without any help from us, the way you give us advice, information and wisdom. Without you beautiful ladies, I for one know that us men cannot and would be able to survive. I am not saying that your main purpose in life is to serve us men. This is a question for believers, obviously. I'm just curious if you interpret the Bible literally. I mean, there are some stories in the Bible that would be considered impossible by today's standards: i.e. the Creation story of Adam and Eve, Jonah being swallowed by a whale, Noah's ark, people living for hundreds of years, etc.

I was raised Catholic and currently go to a Catholic high school so I have read the bible many times. We are taught in class that some of those stories are simply metaphors that represent God's message, and that some stories might've been corrupted when they was passed down through many generations.

So: do you believe that those stories represent actual events?

humans were created in the image of a supernatural being. it is the most irrational thing i have ever heard. there is absolutely no evidence for this idea, except the bible, a book thousands of years old writting by humans. thats not a valid source of information.

evolution is so much more rational. we have caused evolution in bacteria and small animals in labratories, so we know it happens. sure, it has holes, but you cant possibly find all links in an organisms evolutionary chain, can you? thats almost impossible.

i am not insulting anyones faith. i just want to understand why you would believe in something like that, so dont all get mad and stuff.

I had a dream last night that my cross earring was missing while looking in mirror...woke up in middle of night to feel if it was there..it was...well, I just got out of shower and while brushing hair, noticed that earring was missing....it fell out in shower.....I've also dreamed of pets dying and within days , they did....and other dreams have come true...why is this??

When ever the questions on here are about evolution, and clearly rhetorical questions which debunk creation science, theres always a backlash of people who ask their rhetorical questions which imply that evolution is used by Satan and Nazis.

Essentially, the portrait intended by these questions is that an evolutionist is evil.

Do you notice how creationists don't make valid scientific points, but merely attack the evolutionist as somehow evil, or satanic, or that nazis used the theory of evolution and therefor evolutionists are all evil nazi satanists.

In other words, have you kept the 10 commandments? Have you ever lied? How about Murdered? Actually the Bible even says to hate someone is to be a murderer. Ever Had sex outside of Marriage? Or even look at someone with lust? that is called adultery, according to the Bible. Ever used God's name in vain? Have you honored your parents? Have you kept God first in life? Have you made a God to suit yourself? that is called idolitary.

The Bible says that if we have offended the law in one point, we have broken the whole law. We are all guilty. We have all sinned. And God, who is just, must punish us. We all are on our way to hell. But Godhas given us a gift. Jesus is willing to pay your fine. All you have to do is repent of your sins and ask Jesus to save you from them. Trust in him for salvation. Please consider this, and if you accept the gift praise God! I have accepted it and I am on my way to heaven. How about you?

All right I am religous and do believe in God. However I need help understanding something.
Every year there are nearly a million legal abortions done. There are thousands and thousands of children put up for adoption. Thousands taken away from their parents. Millions abused. These people did not want their children. They did not want to be parents. They were not trying to get pregnant. Yet they did...
And then there are thousands of people trying to have children. They are mentally stable.They want nothing more to have a family. They would be good parents. Yet they are not able to have children yet.
I really want to keep my faith in God but want to make sense out of this. Why do people who do not want them have children...and why not bless the people that want them and the children they would love with them?
I know some things we dont have the answer for and there is just a reason for everything. But this one really does not fall into place for me.

or happier than that shiny new sports car in the driveway. I had a professor in college who told the class that his top of the line stereo did not make him any happier than his first hand made radio(Crystal radio set) he had as a kid. Is happiness just a chemical by-product of endorphins being released into the bloodsteam? Is it true that the more we have the happier we are? Or, is happiness being happy with what you have, and finding inner peace?
