humans were created in the image of a supernatural being. it is the most irrational thing i have ever heard. there is absolutely no evidence for this idea, except the bible, a book thousands of years old writting by humans. thats not a valid source of information.

evolution is so much more rational. we have caused evolution in bacteria and small animals in labratories, so we know it happens. sure, it has holes, but you cant possibly find all links in an organisms evolutionary chain, can you? thats almost impossible.

i am not insulting anyones faith. i just want to understand why you would believe in something like that, so dont all get mad and stuff.

Ok, how can you believe in evolution? I mean really, the complexity of animals, and well every living thing, came about by accident!! At least we have the bible that was inspired by God! And was correct about allot of scientific things way before man figured it out!

2 Timothy 3:16 All Scripture is inspired of God and beneficial for teaching, for reproving, for setting things straight, for disciplining in righteousness, 17 that the man of God may be fully competent, completely equipped for every good work.

All you have is a theory that we came from nothing!

No, I am not mad, just stating the obvious.

If the bible that was written over thousands of years has no contradictions in it and yet was written by men as you say, how can you NOT have faith in that? There are no holes in that as there are in evolution. And, yes, there should be an unbroken chain if the evolution is to be believed as the links would be found if there was any validity to it whatever. It takes a lot more faith to believe in evolution than it does to believe in an intelligent supernatural being. Lots more holes in the evolutionary THEORY than you could ever even claim to be in the biblical account or creation. For evolution to have any validity, you would need the links that are missing as they say and there are no links there. You go with the creation and you have all the links, NONE missing whatever. So it takes a lot more faith for evolution than a God to create the world as we know it.

I have the same problem wondering how people can believe that the universe and all that it contains just "happened". Figuring out where matter came from at all is at least problematical, figuring out how it came to life is impossible, at least for my poor brain.

On the other hand, I have no problem believing that a Creator (God) set events into motion that led up to the evolution of human beings.

Be careful when you say that we have "caused evolution." A bunch of bacteria developing resistance to an antibacteria agent is not the same as evolution, I had to adapt to a whole new environment when I moved from upstate New York to southern Alabama. I don't burn as easily any more, and my skin stays darker, and I've only been down here 20 years or so. Impress me...make the bacteria evolve into, oh, something simple...like an earthworm, or something. Better yet, create living bacteria. Really impress me. Start by creating your own dirt.

You already answered the question with your own comments, "you cant possibly find all links in an organisms evolutionary chain, can you? thats almost impossible." How can I believe evolution with a statement like this. Where is the written proof of those who actually saw evolution in process millions or billions of years ago. Where is the writing on the cave walls that showed this evolutionary process. I do not see the other primates making any changes to become something else.

Even though there are plus and negatives in both the bible and evolution, if you believe in only evolution, then the most pressing question has to be, but how can such incredible things develop, things like ourselves which are made up of billions of cells, loads of complex organs, incredible emotions and feelings, and yet all this supposedly developed by just chance without any planning. That is quite a difficult thing to believe, so even though all the bible can be difficult to believe, this is why some believe one, others believe science, and there are also people like me who have a open mind on the existence or not of a God.

Evolution is not rational. God made man in their image but when Adam sinned man is no longer in the image of God but in the image of Adam.Romans 5: 12 Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned: Genesis 1: 26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. Genesis 1: 27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. Genesis 5: 3 And Adam lived an hundred and thirty years, and begat a son in his own likeness, and after his image; and called his name Seth: You are not insulting my faith but it take a lot more faith to believe that there was a big bang and all this just happen. The earth started going around the sun that some how got put out in the center of the universe and then the moon started going around the earth to control the oceans. How foolish that line of thinking is. God calls people fools that don't believe there is a God a fool. Psalms 14: 1 The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good. Psalms 19: 1 The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork.

So it is more valid to believe in evolution which you cannot prove yourself either? If you can disprove creation, if you can disprove the Bible then share it with the world. Evolution takes faith just like believing in the Bible because evolution doesn't have any concrete evidence and it has so many missing links. But you are still free to believe what you want but I hope you will test the Bible for yourself and test God too.

Why not believe? You rather come from a monkey? LOL Evolution is a theory not a law. It is not proven. All is proven is that life is here and no one knows why but God said he did it and people all of the world from day one has believed that there is something greater than us. How can all of mankind be wrong? We may differ in religious opinion but to my understanding there is not a tribe on earth who does not acknowledge a supernatural being. I know there are atheist in the world but there are far more believers.

Because people need something to believe in. What if none of it were true and you died tomorrow? Then you would just die, right? But wouldn't it have been nice to have something greater than yourself to believe in? Without morals and laws (a lot of laws are based on religion) people would have been so sinful and corrupt that civilization would have died, or whatever civilization was left we would not want to be a part of. Religion helps to keep mankind in line. By nature humans are sinful, sooooo......... that is where religion comes in. Evolution is more rational, but even that is hard to understand.

well, let's think about that. Evolution claims that all living things came from water falling on rocks. For millions upon millions of years (then it developed into an organism, then it lived in the sea, then it crawled up on land, etc. etc.).

Now, really. What makes more sense? People came from two people that God created? All dogs came from.....dogs? Or all things came from water falling on rocks.

I believe the bible because I've studied it, in depth, for about ten years. Most people who reject the bible haven't put a whole lot of thought into what it says. It makes perfect sense to me.

Best wishes.
