obviously, in small towns it might be a problem - depending on that town's demographic. But you shouldn't have a problem in any major city.

I'm a straight male living in Vancouver, and proudly count both butch and femme dykes amojng my circle of friends. I can definitively say vancouver is no problem inclusive. Ditto for Montreal or Toronto or Quebec City.. maybe a little less so for Alberta or the Maritimes.

But in any event, your rights are enshrined in our "Charter of Rights and Freedoms" so anybody who does discriminate against you is breaking the law.

I know several butch types who hold jobs and are freely demonstrative. Why would a butch care what people think?

what is a butch?

if it's gay, then..

it all depends on where you live. Big cities like toronto.. you should be safe. i thin kthat the west is homophobic, but idk canada very well.. alberta and places like that seem homophobic.

anyways, do the employers really need to know you're gay?
