Hey everyone,

I have to teach a lesson about music and the effects it has on the brain this Thurs. for my Psych class. Any good information, advice, or topics I should specifically talk about? Links to any good websites?

Also do you know of any good interactive exercises I can do with the class to support my lesson or of any videos online I can show?

Thanks much for any help you can provide....

Scott

I recited my own little verse to my friend when I was in my "emo bubble of depression" when she said i was mute and deaf (bc i wasn't responding to their rude remarks). What do you think of it and do you think it could have offended her?

DARKNESS BLINDS
DARKNESS DEAFENS
DARKNESS LEFT ME SENSELESS
DARKNESS DEAFENS
DARKNESS BLINDS
DARKNESS LET ME WALK THE LINE
THE LINE BETWEEN GOOD AND EVIL
BETWEEN DAY AND NIGHT
BETWEEN WRONG AND RIGHT
I WALK THE LINE

if the only ways you could go was either: down a deserted 2 mile long street that stretched on endlessley: through a large park: or down a series of alley ways.
which way would you choose to go?

the 2 mile long street was very leafy had lots of trees either side of the street. the houses were all dark and silent, no lights were on in any of em.
you realised you had to get home, it was 9:30pm at night. which way would you go?

I dreamed I was working a catering event at Carnegie Hall (I am a bartender)
I was in this room with a window that looked out into this courtyard/airshaft (In the dream, Carnegie Hall was really tall, like 40 floors, and I was about halfway up) The window was small, frosted and kind of high up, like a bathroom window, but it was open.
I looked out the window, and in short succession, two guys and a girl jumped out a higher window to their deaths. I could hear the "splat" sound (I remember the girl was wearing a long red skirt)
I looked over at the director of catering and she said, really nonchalantly," Oh, yeah, people are always doing that here"
When I continued to look surprised, she said," The janitor is really busy"
There was a big metal staple stuck into the wall, halfway up to the window and she asked,"Do you want to try it?"
Downstairs, in the main theatre there was a performance of "Once Upon A Mattress" going on

This was just a really grim, morbid dream. What does it mean

What do you do about people that spend years complaining about their lives and that they hate the situation they are in but yet do nothing to change anything?

I think choosing to do nothing is a decision so if you choose to stay in place you have made a choice.

Why do you think people refuse to deal with situations in their life that they hate?

I am one of the managers in the caring profession, for 18 months I have been belittled, talked down to and made to feel small by my direct manager as a consequence about three other staff members (my juniors) have followed suit. I have felt undermined, indeed these members have refused my very polite requests. I have informed the line manager of this over several occasions (it is now making me ill, I have butterflies feel sick and dread work, although I love my proffesion) she has fobbed me off with promises of future changes and says she would prefer not to rock the boat by moving me as my direct manager will kick off. I am at breaking point and occupational health have offered to help but I do not want to upset my line manager by threats. Should I just threaten to go off sick if I am not moved and threaten to put in complaints for bullying and hassessment. Just to lay it on the line as the softly softly approach does not seem to have worked?

a few nights ago I was telling my husband about a weird dream I had about visiting my ex husband and being lost on the University of Pennsylvania campus. (I have never been there or knew anyone who had attended this university).

My husband then told me about his dream he had the same night.....he dreamed he was going to visit an old girlfriend he went to college with. She lives near his old college. He got totally lost on the campus and couldn't find his way out.

I have had this experience once before when my mom and I had the same dream on the same night, (came true).

Has anyone else had this experience? What does it mean?

Thanks!

Hello, I had a dream last night that got me a little concerned.

I dreamt of conflict and the number 3...
I dreamt 3 different scenarios of conflict. First I dreamt of a city beign attacked by seemed like warplanes, but to hightech to be from this time or from earth (i had no confirmation of where this planes came from) then a huge missle came down from the sky in 3 parts that assembled themselves to create a huge missle the sieze of a building. When it was completed it came down like a lumbered tree to one side hiting some buildings.

Next I dreamt of a coffee warehouse, I received 3 packages with ground coffee, two regular one premium with a pack of sugar. I dreamt that there was a conflict in the company with a guy who was outside and was using explosives to smoke out one of the owners (who I think it was me, but I was seeing all of this as a 3rd person) out of a building, and this bulding had a wall that exploded and only 3 large pieces of the wall remained intact.
