what do you do to help yourself snap out of it?

This isn't an unusual situation, but it can have many definitions. The reason that you feel hopeless is probably because you haven't made something that makes you feel worthy or maybe someone has push you down and encourage you to feel worthless. There is no need to feel it, it's just the surrounding that has a big power to make you feel it. I would suggest you to do something like helping others, you are a soul, an own will, a possibility for changing. Why don't you take it. Find out what makes you stick out from others, set goals and always take everything bad as a learning. Because it is. You shouldn't seek for things when people tell you that you are worthfull only. You should search for something that makes you tell yourself beeing worthful. As I said help others, come up with ideas and why not help yourself ? You will feel so much more happy when you can treat yourself, living healthy, do well in work - you are almost forced to love yourself, because your so good you are. You're unique ! Feel worthfull that you are noticed to feel worthfull, because not many do unfortunately ! Keep in touch with a lot of people , find good friends that understands. People you feel like you don't need to live with, but can't live without. Seriously to be together with other honest and loving people will help you a lot promise ! Friends are like angels, they make you fly high above the sky. If they loose height you have to be their air and gently push them towards the sky. If you hold on like a breeze underneath their arms, you will follow after in the speed. They can't live without you and you can't live without them.

PLEASE first know that life is TOO short to live with it 1/2 empty, pal!! I'm not trying to be a smart allic! I'd be lying if I said, "Gee, I've never had THAT problem...what's YOUR deal?!" In fact due to many deaths (divorce included) in a few years of each other - depression was my best friend! However thanks to praying and getting close to God and my CHRISTIAN friends-NOT friends that will take you down WITH them with drugs and alcohol - I survived!! You can too!! I know it sounds easier said than done - but it CAN be!! Meditate, pray, call a true friend, write in a journal, etc. All things will help!! Good luck and God Bless!

Read the Bible and/or any other inspirational books or websites; listen to upbeat, uplifting music; eat favorite foods; talk to a loved one; dance and sing; exercise; get out and go shopping :) or go somewhere and have fun.

when i feel depressed i just pray to god to bring me out
allso you can write down what is make you feel depressed
and tell your self i am some body but know matter who
you are we all get depressed but it is how you deal
with it god love you and so do me i dont know you but
the god that in have me to love you ps love april

Chocolate, chocolate, chocolate. And rent a good movie so I can have a cry and get it out of my system. (Sixth Sense made me cry the other night, I don't remember that happening the first time I watched it...?)
