im really bored right now. what do you recommend curing boredom?

do not really know how to take care of themselves? Do you think that if they
were left alone in this world, they could
manage? Should they not be self-sufficient
insofar as is realistic.

(P.S. The Marquis de Lafayette was only 18 when he came to the United States on official business, they say...)

The reason I am asking is that when I was 18, I was vulnerable and not careful of my own best interests. I think people should be taught as early as possible to run fast, arrive safely, and stay safe! I do not want to go through that again. In addition, I would want a profession that would carry me through in case of emergency, something that I could do well, and not just for my age.

my mood swings arent severe or anything, and im thinking that possibly i may be over dramatizing little things in my head, but maybe this is just normal and i have to get used to it... for example, if im having a really good day...... a little roadbump can come along and like totally mess up my mood.... i can go fom happy to sort of uncaring and a little sad because of a small obsticle..... and, its not like the day is ruined, its just that i get down for a period of time until something takes my mind off of it or something good happens.... is it not normal, or is it just that im not good at hiding the way i feel? lol.

often we use "mother nature", how come gender of "nature" is determined. "nature" is lifeless and hostile and "mother" is life-giving and creator.

nature is neither kind nor cruel. it is simply a matter of how the organism adapts to nature is my belief. that way you feel right now depends on your ability to adapt quickly. if you fail to adapt you are a loser, right?

it is so rude, yet i am constantly catching people staring at me throughout the day at work. I have to carry myself very professionally, because I am a nurse, so i can't just make some funny face or be rude about it. I am constantly standing at a med cart in the middle of the hallway, always hard at work, and people will literally sit in a chair and watch me work. it bothers the heck out of me. they are adults, men, and women, families, residents, patients, housekeepers... I don't want to be rude, but I am really starting to lose patience!! I am a minority (asian) and 25 y/o, working in a place that is predominantly, but not entirely white, and over 40. I am the youngest nurse where I work. People tell me that I am pretty, and I always respond appropriately and politely. Sometimes I think it would be better if I just ugly myself down. I wear lose fitting scrubs everyday and no make up and i put my hair up everyday. How do I make them stop starring?!?!?!

I've had a couple dreams recently about this boy I had a huge crush on in Kindergarten... till 3rd grade or so. (If it's relevant, I'm 28 now.) What's going in my subconscious?!

Every night, for a long time (a month or so) I keep having dreams of me struggling for something. Either I'm struggling to run away from the cops ( I mean, really really struggling, the continuously torturous struggle that doesn't end ) and I'm always running as fast as I can and I always make it to an open field but they are behind me still and I never get rest. And the other dream involves flesh eating zombies, I'm struggling for my life trying not to get bitten by them, and there is no rest, I'm in a constant state of tension. I HAAAATE these dreams, and they've been happening everynight, I don't understand why I'm having these dreams, in real life I'm not struggling with anything that I'm aware of.

And I don't mean, like, a fear of snakes or something... I mean the fear that lies at the root of a lot of the things you do. What is the fear that traps you into not living the life you want? The fear you barely want to admit to, even to yourself?

But how do you do right by other people when you're either:

1) actively panicking about your own problems, or
2) despairing about them, and just don't have anything left to give?

(Please don't recommend drugs.)

The reason why I ask is because I suffer with depression and I feel everything which makes me sick and depressed. I read about Highly sensitive people and I had an aha moment.
