i mean at my age i would have thought i would have a serious boyfriend or even be married by now. but i'm not just can't seem to find a good guy to date. and i would have thought that i would have a sucessful career but i don't. there are lots of things that i thought would be different then they are in my life when i thought about at the age of 15 or 16 where in life i would be when i hit 31. so what about you? why do you think our life never quite turns out how we plan it or dream it to?

if you're a cheerful, smiley, and always-positive person:

1) how do you stay happy all the time?

2) how do you deal with irritating people and keep your composure?

3) most importantly, why are you so damn happy?

All the motivation I have had left dissapeared over the years. Even when I want to do something I don't do it. You can call me lazy but nobody has ever called me lazy before. Whenever I'm asked to do a task I perform it effciently. When I want to do something for my own benefit, I don't do it.

For example, I study but I don't study to my potential. I used to be an honors student with an A average in middle school but now as a high school senior, I'm an average student. So average that I don't have a distinguishing characteristic colleges would consider me taking me in for.

I think this has something to do with kids and even an adult calling me retarded, insane and psycho. They said such things because I used to be in Special Ed. I eventually believed my future was going to be in a mental hospital and gave up trying.

I also want to do is learn an instrument, exercise, get my driver's permit, write a novel, learn to draw and possibly more.

How do I get my motivation back?

Do you get excited just by talking to people you know and then all of a sudden get kind of sullen for stupid reasons?

I've had a total lack of motivation for the past six months. Any suggestions how to excite myself for my life? I am a full time collge student, with no idea what I want to do for a major (I've changed it four times in five years), work full time at Wal-Mart (since I was 18). I have a wonderful relationship, and a family. No real close friends, but a pretty okay family..
Any suggestions would be great! Thanks!

I never believed in them until my father passed. My 7 yr old son and I saw a fast flash of light dart past us. I know it wasn't an optical allusion caused from a bright light because the image would have lasted for a few more seconds. I had him draw what he saw before I discribed what I saw and it was the exact same image. We never saw it again after that. This happened the next day after my father passed away. Freaks us both out to this day and he's 16 now.

I find it so hard to find people that understand me. I can be a little eccentric and I guess you can call me a non-conformist. I just hate meaningless talk, dealing with fake and fickle people who always change their mind. It is hard to depend on anyone but myself. People just let me down over the years. There are only a few people who understand me and over the years I got to the point where I just like being by myself. It would be great to find more people to enjoy life with and have real conversation but it will probably never happen.

Please, serious answers.
I know asking this probably doesn’t make me sound the brightest, but I would really like to know what you think.

“1. Slow to learn or understand; obtuse.
2. Tending to make poor decisions or careless mistakes.
3. Marked by a lack of intelligence or care; foolish or careless: a stupid mistake.
4. Dazed, stunned, or stupefied.”

I experience many of these symptoms at different times, but it seems everyone does at one point or another. Many people have said I’m very “smart” “bright” etc. but I honestly don’t know... What do YOU think makes someone “stupid”? And I mean in a more personal way, not so much what it means, but as to when someone actually can (in a matter of speaking) be classified as it.
