Artfull? I'm not sure what that means. Do you mean they are awful or is that a new word that means "playing head games" or crafty?
Anyway, if you are posessive and short tempered, it is a sign that you are insecure. The only cure is to gain some confidence, and the only way to do that is to realize you are good at being you. Figure out what you like to do, (tennis, chess, cooking, math, whatever thrills you) and do it. The more you do it, the better you will get at it, and you will gain confidence and shed your insecurities. Then, voi la, you're a happier person.

I guess you have to look at why you are this way. First off, why are you short tempered. In traffic, do you sit behind someone and think "come on ******** move it, you're a pain" and "move it faster dude I'm in a hurry?" So if you are in traffic and there's a jam, what can you do about it? you can get mad but what does that accomplish? it's not gonna move the jam any faster, and the guy ahead ofyou probably wishes the same thing that people would move. So you can't do anything about it, why get mad? because it's out of your control I'm assuming. Being possessive with people and things out of your control really bother you. But what about you? What if someone said "I don't want you to eat dinner now" You would probably say I will anyhow you can't control me. So why do you think you can control someone else?
Those are things you need to look at. Why do you want to control everything? What in your life is out of control? Put your energy into being angry and wanting possession and control to better use.
Instead of sitting in traffic angry, why not mentally make a list of things you need to do the next day, or put your energy to use to thinking of an alternative route around the jam?
You need to self evaluate. What makes you angry and why? Keep a journal, write it down, then look at back pages and think of what you can do to change things, write what you can do down, then work at changing it.

artfull = smartass?
Well the old golden says, do unto other as you want them to do unto you, so if you don't like folks being artful with you, don't be with them.
Life is TOO short to be short tempered, even the Bible says,.... be slow to anger.
But be quick to be kind.
Practice makes perfect.
