I want to be able to force myself to do things I need to do, even when my motivation is not very high.

Advice? Books you'd recommend, etc?

I don't mean official moderators or people who occasionally redirect or instruct newbies to a forum by advising them of the rules. I'm talking about people who can't seem to refrain from embarrassing, harrassing and critiquing any and every little thing they can find fault with. I know there has to be tons of them out there in cyber space. It seems to me that these people either have way too much time on their hands or some sort of personality disorder. Can somebody who understands the human mind better than I do please explain?

When you have to take a dump it is hard to hold it. I don't live there but spend most nights and evenings there. I hate to stink up the place. There is only one bathroom and she has a teen daughter who always has friends over. I would like to fart too but what if it wakes someone up? Should I just let 'er rip?

I understand you have to get a P.h.D. etc. but my question stems from not knowing what subfield goes with my different behavior interests here are some.

People who are drunk?
Physical trauma leading to depression?
Videogames(players&people who make them)
Marriage issues
research
That is all I can think of thanks.

Anybody some advice on how to build self esteem & self confidence. I wouldn't say that I am a depressed person, neither do I suffer from social anxiety...(I have no problem talking to strangers) I would say that I am very self consumed & that I don't believe in myself or in what I say...for instance I always feel a need for a cosigner on my decisions (I like when people agree with me) What I mean is I don't want someone else to make my decision but I need someone to confirm that my decision is the right choice or else I will feel uncomfortable...so I say I think I lack self confidence. I love approval more so then average people I think. Why is it that when music comes on & everybody starts dancing I feel shy & uncomfortable dancing as well (now was I by myself I would go all crazy lol) Strange thing when I go out to a club (which I do) I love to dance & look good (I feel like a Diva lol) am I an oxymoron? I need a book about this any suggestions? I don't want to grow old & turn into the cat lady...

It was a girl I was in love with...she just happened to be a vampire. She over-powered me, threw me onto the bed, jumped on top of me and was about to bite my neck...then I woke up. It was the most realistic dream I have ever had (as far as being able to feel). It was years ago, but I still remember it like it was yesterday.

To get the "I am me, accept it!" aspect of their life, to put it forefront in all they do and be strong to stick to it... to not be worried about what others think about them... and to make their imperfect mind/body perfect to themselves...?

Hypothetically speaking, suppose that I can easily get lost by going around the corner, have trouble determining cardinal directions (north, south, east, west), and have practically no map reading skills, how could I learn my way around a place (town, city, etc.) without getting hopelessly lost? Just to make it a challenge, no reliance on the Global Positioning System can be assumed. Thanks in advance.

I'm just curious, this isn't for some big experiment. Restrict each answer to a single word or phrase (you can add explanations at the end if you want but you don't have to).

I'm hoping for as many answers as I can get, and there's no right or wrong answer. Just write the first thing that comes to your head when you read the word(s). Thanks!

I always was a hard worker, my boss values me, but for me it seems I don't do enough. Even at my lunch break I answer the phone! I know that its not right, but I can't help it. I all the time got this idea that my boss can fire me if I won't try hard. And sometimes, he jokes like ' what if you get paid only when the customers are coming'. That drives me crazy also when he asks 'where are the customers, what have you done?'

If Alcoholics Anonymous and the American Medical / Psychiatric Associations has anything to say about it, he is an innocent man.

In Alcoholics Anonymous, the actions that are exhibited or a result of the "drinking" Disease are uncontrolable and the person is merely a victim of his/her Disease. They are Powerless!
How can Foley be Responsible for his behaviour?

The APA in Diagnostic Service Manuals (since 1973) have revised their diagnostic criteria for homosexuality to include homosexuality as a normal human sexual orientation, like heterosexuality. Prior to 1973, homosexuality was a Disease and considered deviant sexual behaviour, like pedophilia.

Congressman Foley was even molested by a Catholic priest!

Foley tactfully entered into treatment for alcoholism and then plans address his other psychological issues, including sexual deviancy.

Should Foley be forgiven and excused from his actions because of his "disease"? And Powerless?
