Because it's a simple question, if you want to complicate things, make up a question of your own and answer it yourself. Don't get so worked up about it.

The latter, for some people it is all about quality of life, and for those who do not like stress it is the way to go. A lot more to life than those hours spent at work.

I personally would go for a monotonous, easy going low paid job at this time in my life.
I'm not well-equipped to deal with stress at the moment, and a repetitive, no stress job would be idea.
When I'm on top form, I'd rather a demanding job, but right now, that scares me!

Well, I have had the high stress job which was also a bit monotonous as well as not well paid so a change might be a good thing.
Writing a book might be less stressful. of course it pays well only if the book sells, huh?

Those two types of jobs aren't your only options. How about a good job that isn't high stress? Why limit yourself with such "all or nothing" thinking? There are plenty of jobs that pay well without stressing you out or having a lot of responsibility, especially if you go to college. Any office job falls into that category. The main thing is finding a job that matches your interests, your personality, your values, and your abilities. Try seeking out a career counselor if you are having trouble figuring it out.

there can be as much stress for the indiviual in a low paid job, probably more as a result of managing to cope on the low salary even though there is little or no responsibility involved in the job itself. some people are fortunate enough to have few responsibilities in life and no need to climb the ladder and so a job which pays adequately to finance their lifestyle with as little responsibility as possible is ideal for them. but i think they are very rare.

Both (at differing points in my life)....I hold all relevant qualifications to perform in a corporate position and have enjoyed working in those positions despite the stress and time committments....however I'm impulse driven and very family orientated so right now it suits me to work as a waitress....relaxed, social and thank heavens I don't need to rely on the pitiful income that provides LOL
