I want to know how much of the Gross Domestic Product is made up of social security every year from its inception until today.

For example, did social security make up 10% of the GDP in 1936, 14% of the GDP in 1958 and 33% of the GDP today?

I'm going to major in Economics. This is certain. What I'm wondering about is if I would be more valuable to an employer (or any other helpful insights experienced persons may have in this area). Should I double major in history as well or major in economics and have two minors in history and political science? The amount of time and credits are almost exactly the same in the two situations.

Capitalism is a system based on the greed of people to push competition, creating a system where people's dollars become their voting power and influence....Is it good that capitalism depends on such a basic part of man's nature (his self-interest)? Or is this a flaw because it reinforces greed in people which should not be encouraged?
