Before Industrialization more people were required to work on farms. Farms were usually small related to the size a family could manage. Improved machinery and technology meant fewer people were needed. Farms got bigger and fewer workers were needed. So you had lots of displaced farmers. They ended up in cities and that's where the factories ended up so you have jobs there and that's where those looking for jobs went.

People moved to where the jobs were. Then, more buisinesses moved to where the people were.

industrialization, gave us scissors, and razors, so everyone got a haircut, and a shave, and the barbers became wealthy, and ran for office, and the city grew......
