The numbers I have been looking at are:

USA GDP $11 667 515 000 000 annual growth about %3
PRC GDP $1 649 329 000 000 annual growth rate about %10

Assuming the GDP figures are reasonably accurate and the growth rates stay the same how many years before China catches up with the US GDP?

China with its high economic growth will double its economic within 8-9 years. Adding Japan, India that is also has huge population and the newly industrialized Asian countries such as South Korea, Singapore, Malaysia and so on... don't you think it is possible to surpassed the whole North America economy one day? When that is happening, do you think the influence of the US is waning?

My room is on the second floor, and it is always very hot. We have been trying to conserve energy, so we turn the thermostate up a few notches, so it makes it even hotter. Also, it can't be anything permanent, because we are to move in a month or so. I already have a fan in my room, which I only turn on when I'm in there for a good amount of time. Does anyone have ANY ideas to help keep my room cooler? Also, I keep my window shades down, and it's way to hot outside for me to open the windows. Any ideas will be helpful. THANK YOU!!!

Personally, I think having a home should be one of the most basic human rights our government was founded upon. With home prices rising to extortionate levels, even people who earn college-graduate salaries may never be able to afford the lifestyle they had toiled for. What can be done to reverse this troubling trend?

sport is something that is a leisure activety, people do it because they want to do it because its enjoyable and used to be completely amature and people still watched it no differently than they do today. College people play sports and still have to fit in a full time school, so why cant "professional" sports people do the same? If no one was paid to play sport, they would do it anyway, so why pay obscene amounts of money for something that most people willingly do for free?

Recently Exxon released their quarterly earning (profit) of 10.3 BILLION dollars. What this means"we are being gouged at the pumps". Since our politicians are being funded by these big oil companies they will not help us. We can do something to lower prices by BOY COTTING these companies starting with Exxon service stations and Exxon products. It's a starting point.
When their corperate profits decline they will be forced to lower their prices.
When this quarter ends, the company reporting the Highest profit should be boy cotted for the next quarter until they lower their prices. In other words the companies with the highest profit will not get our business for the next quarter.
I hope everyone reading this will spend at least 5 points to continue circulating this message until everyone understands the importance of sticking together to pressure these companies to lower their prices. Doing nothing means business as usual for the oil companies. Take a stand now, Boy Cott

I cannot believe all of the bad answers to this question I have read.

Charity nor the bible will eliminate poverty. There are not enough people, that can be hounded with guilt, to willfully fund the end of Africa's poverty and, if God wished to end poverty he would.

It is the end game of God or fate to see how people will deal with this issue, regardless of your perspective.

The answer does NOT include nations plundering their citizens for the money. Nor should anyone be compelled to contribute.

What are some real solutions? What are the logistically feasible options? I would like to see answers from smart and creative persons only. At the end I will tell you what I think.
