Marx despised capitalism because capitalism and the bourgeois exploit the proletariets(laborers). Marx did not like the fact that the workers did not get enough wages to pay for the product they were making.

I don't think he despised it as such, he just felt that the 'rewards' of a rapidly industrializing economy were not going to the folks that were doing most of the work, but were resting in the pockets of a few.
Like any system or economic model, it needs 'tweaking' to ensure sufficient safety nets (safe working conditions, job security, representation on decision making bodies) for the people most directly affected by the fortunes of that system; the employee.
