It must serve some purpose or it wouldn't happen. I think it's probably some sort of survival instinct that never gets used.

Its not just because I am European, I have an Asian friend that thinks the exact same thing, his quote ""You westerners have such an unnecessary diversity of appearance. None of you looks even remotely similar to any other one. So many different colors of hair, shapes of eyes, noses, and other facial features. If I were an uneducated yokel who had never been out of the backwater of Japan, I'd wonder if you were even all of the same species. Look at us. We can tell each other apart quite easily, even though we all have the same eyes, nose, mouth, hair -- and we even dress alike"!

Why is this?

Does it take rationality to overcome racism?
If it demands active thinking, can it ever be truly equal treatment?

This is fron King James Version:...." 17 A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, 18 A heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief, 19 A false whitness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethern.".....I shall leave it to the voters to decide "best answer" for this question. ....

It's a rainy evening in Ireland (surprise) but the rain is making funny patterns out in the bay. The rain is straight down in sheets and makes the ground smell great. What do you notice outside?

I offer no initial opinions here. I want to know what people really understand about themselves and the human equation in general. This question IS open-ended & one that demands real contemplation. I don't expect a 3-page essay but PLEASE, NO overly simplistic "one-liners." Even just a paragraph would seem rather "stingy" to me, so I ask that you qualify or explain or support your assertions. Lists are okay... and even encouraged, but I would prefer that you provide a brief example for each potential/quality/attribute listed. That's all.
I just want to "thank" the "true players" "in advance." Like my question about Human Idioms, this promises to bring smiles, laughter, and maybe even tears to each who read the entries. For those who give that special effort, I'd like to drop you a "thank you" email... but I've found that some leave no way for others in the community to contact them with "shows of appreciation..." that's unfortunate, but one's prerogative.

please just answer one or the other. there's no compromise here. if you believe that god created the earth and then it evolved from there, then just say "apes" as your answer. only say "god" if you believe that man came into existence in his current form.

also,,, you needn't point out that man is actually a type of ape or that man and the other extant apes actually share a common ancestor that no longer exists. my question had to be concise, so i couldn't say all that.
