I do not know the exact number killed daily but I know more people are killed on the highways in auto mishaps than from any other cause. The highways are not safe, yet those of us who wish not to drive are forced to, such is the nature of our culture. Cars are ridiculously expensive, besides. The number of people permanently injured on highway is astronomical, more than from any other cause. The death rate yearly is more than from all wars from this and last century.

That I have seen on the news is gang bangers shooting (#1 terrorist in the USA and Bush doesn't take them all to war, well if they want to kill give them a chance. Don't use our good people), drunk driving, parents leaving their guns in the wrong place, racism, jealousy, deceases, drug overdose and many more.

Depressing to think about. I keep running from my 30 minutes!
Alcohol, and AIDS are leading causes I believe! It's different for men and women. I think there's some HUGE NUMBER of women that die of breast cancer, and ovarian cancer! A HUGE number of men die of liver and prostate cancer too! Keep a yearly check on things, and you should be ok.
