Since this is posted in the Anthropology category, I feel it necessary to give you the anthropological answer. Lust comes first since it is the first stage of attraction. Next, love forms when the person develops an addiction to the other. Third is attachment, the mirage stage. Sorry for the nerdiness.

It's lust at first sight. Love takes time to grow.

Lust is an intense or unrestrained sexual craving or an overwhelming desire. How do we tell the difference between love and lust at first sight? It's simple...It'll always be lust, because love is just a bunch of nonsense and romantic ideal for someone you don't even know.

Based on previous "firsts" I'm going with lust, which doesn't have to be solely physical. It has so much to do with the moods of both individuals at the moment of introduction, as well as interests you both may share--and this can be very exciting, especially after the discovery of common interests is made just within the first few minutes of meeting. But beware, it it TIME that results in true love for another person.

When I separate the person from who they are, i.e. a body part, that person has an incredible bottom, or they are hot, I am separating the person from who they are to how they appear/look. I am also idealizing who they are based on the objectification of their body, i.e., because that person is hot, I would like to get to know them, or somehow they are appealing emotionally mentally because they are hot. As I am objectifying, lust shows itself in fantasy. What would I like, what would I like to do with and to them. So I would say when the idealized picture of this person is replaced with reality, IE., who they really are. You can accept and be willing to see past faults, issues, problems because Love carries no jealousy, love doesn't judge, love don't do anything for self gratitude, love gives unconditionally, love is trust, love is respect, love is truth! So the truth is Lust is only at first sight.....

Well, I believe in love at first sight, but lust at first sight is more common.

Love at first sight can occur. It's when although you first see that person, you may not be physically attracted, there's something there makes you want to get to know more about that person.
Lust at first sight occurs when you first see that person you (in your mind) start placing certain characteristics with that person without getting to know them.

I don't know. I've never experience love at first sight. I don't think I would trust it if I did. I need to know that I can love the person every day, even after they have disappointed me, or I've become very angry at them, etc. I think if I were to love someone at first sight, that kind of love would be bound to fade, and so when they made me angry, I would give up on them.
However, I've met people who have lived long, happy lives with the person they fell in love with at first sight.

Lust first. It's based on the physical attributes. Love encompasses the whole person.
