I hate it about myself that I am so lazy and that I never finish anything etc. How can I motivate myself? Nothing seems to work. If I bribe myself with a reward I just take the reward and not do the work. I have so much at stake to succeed. My childs future but I still can not bring myself to work hard. I just faff around.

I am pretty introverted. I like keeping to myself for the most part unless I am around people that I feel that I can really converse with and relate to. The ironic part is that I have found myself in bad conflicts with other people because of my personality type. Because I like to be left alone, I have been around people who are consistently in my face when they need attention and don't know how to back off. This sometimes causes me to blow up in anger because I spend alot of time thinking and being quiet so I lack the skills that it takes to communicate my thoughts in the best way. I end up "sticking my foot in my mouth" so to speak when I have to communicate exactly what is bothering me with the person whom I have the issue with. Does anyone else find that having a more introverted personality leads to this kind of proble

Are they related?

I have very finely tuned intuitive responses and my intuition usually serves me well, in that I make a fair few decisions based on what my gut instinct is telling me without any real hard evidence, and later my decisions are substantiated by the outcomes.

But sometimes it would appear that some people believe their intuition is telling them something when the reality is much, much different. Like for example, the jealous spouse who imagines his partner is cheating with no evidence whatsoever to back it up and the partner isn't cheating?

So where is the line crossed and when does intuition become paranoia?

Two books of the 20th century complained of certain members of society being parasites:

One says -
"..under whose parasitism the whole of honest humanity is suffering, today more than ever, (because of)______"
" (These people) are a parasite on the body of others" and "are forced to deny their true nature."

Book 2 says:
(These people) are "less than fully human." (They) "live in a state inferior to their own capabilities". They are "Not people", they "aquire their status vicariously" as "parasites".

So, best answer goes to the person who identifies both books, and tells me whether he/she thinks that both authors, just one, or neither author should be condemned.

I lost a bet to a cheerleader named Cathy at my school I said girls can't beat guys in sports and cheerleading isn't a sport.

If I won in basketball she had to be my maid all year, but she beat me, so now she gets to make me into a cheerleader any way she wants.

Do u think she'll just forget about the bet?

Or what do u think she'll make me wear and do for it?

I notice in myself that the way I face life very much depends on my music selection.
In ancient literature, there are multiple references to music being the thing that can cloud minds and sway people.
I've so far tried to believe that I am in control of my views and leanings no matter what music is playing.
But, are we?

Anyone remember the George Carlin bit about shell shock vs post tramatic stress syndrome? Well I was thinking about it and other various word evolutions(I said the "E" word so it fits R&S) Do you think that we keep changing the words we have for meanings that never change in an effort to make OURSELVES feel better? Ya know, as opposed to "Not hurting anyones feeling" ?
Like Shell Shock, then Battle Fatigue, then Post Tramatic Stress Sydrome... the guy is still all f****** up and in distress no matter what we call it... do our PC words merely seek to gloss over the unpleasentness WE have thinking of it? Cause I am sure he doesnt care... Of course there are many terms we do this with... this was a single example... now I am rambling... or am I "Speaking on beyond the needed point?"

Normally I'm with the unions, but this sounds like a whole lot of white men whining to me. The Guild is populated by 90 percent white writers:

"A Writers Guild study released earlier this year found that, despite some advances by women and minority writers, white male scribes disproportionately dominate film and TV jobs in Hollywood. Minority writers accounted for fewer than 10% of employed television writers from 1999 to 2005" (http://www.latimes.com/entertainment/news/tv/la-et-race2oct02,1,2756258.story?coll=la-entnews-tv&ctrack=1&cset=true ).

Women account for only about 30 percent: "The [2005] study by the Writers Guild of America, West, found that minorities accounted for about 10% of the 3,015 employed television writers in 2004, while women made up 27% — even though those groups represented more than 30% and 50% of the population, respectively. ...

The US Government spends double on breast cancer research over prostate and the corporate disparity is much greater. Campbells soup doesn't have Prostate awareness soup cans! Although deaths from breat cancer are 1/3 higher there are far more cases of prostate cancer, over 240,000 per year. The funding and awarness differential is 300 or 400%. So is it a gender issue, an age issue (tends to be later onset) or What?

In this dream I had last night, I had bought this maroon dress for a semi-formal dance I was going to. But when I put it on and looked in the mirror, the dress had changed color and style, it was beige/tan in the mirror and made of corderoy and had an overall top. Now, I think I get what that means, but what I can't figure is...I turned around and was looking at my back in the mirror. The back of the dress was low-cut, and my bra strap was showing, and I remember wondering how on earth I was going to hide the bra band. I don't quite understand that part. I know looking in the mirror is often the reflection of how you see yourself, but what does seeing my back, with my bra showing mean?

thanks!
