Many times. A lot of children are very friendly. I just hope the parents keep an eye on them since someone could take advantage of the situation.

Years ago, when I was on public transportation, a small child spoke to just about every person on the bus. He/she singled out some of the "riders" and said "hi." The people responded "hello" and "hi" and it was a generally friendly atmosphere.

Yep, they do all the time. Small children can usually sense who is good to say hi to and who isn't. I am a nanny and have been since 2003. I think that children sense this and tend to say hi to me a lot. Plus, saying hi is something that small children tend to do a lot of once they learn how to say it.

Yes, they have done so on any number of occassions. I've also had kids try to hide from me behind their parents. Why do you ask?

Of course, all the time. They like to say "hi" - it is one of their favorite words when they are little.
