In my experience meditation can improve focus and attention and this in turn will improve memory.

you don't need meditation - take a 5 minute break after every 30 minutes of work so the stuff you just learned can be transferred from your short-term memory into your long-term memory. during the break, don't think about what you did, just distract yourself, i.e. talk to the person next to you. it does work, believe me =)
