I mean, really. How has it hurt you personally? I am quite certain of how the patriarchy and sexist culture has hurt women, but I am very unsure of how feminism itself has directly hurt men? Ladies, why do YOU think men feel so threatened at times?

For years now I've had a repetitive dream of me in my car and I'm driving down a road/freeway going faster and faster but I never use the brakes. I'm just constantly focusing drinving, making sure not to crash.

It's really been bothering me and I was wondering what you guys thought about this...

I'm currently in year 12 from today and I feel rather depressed, anxious about the hsc approaching in 11 months time. Looking back at year 11, I have done quite horribly in my subjects except for english, I have a habit of comparing my test marks with my other friends and they usually get higher marks them me, this leads to not being able to study and my head being filled with worry. And what hurts me is that most of my friends don't understand my situation, they make fun of mark instead of encouraging me to do better and soon after they would celebrate and brag about their marks amonst other friends. Don't get me wrong, they're still my friends but it seems that socials aspects of school are going badly for me...

So this is what i thought, I am going to avoid my social life and start studying for the upcoming HSC to show them that my hard work has payed off?? WIll it all be worth it at the end when i put my effort into studying in exchange for friends & social aspects of HS?

Hey - I'm 20, married with daughter, and I'm a thumb-sucker...

I have been sucking my thumb ever since I can remember - or to be more precise, ever since my mother made me give up sucking dummies at 8 years of age... ******** ROFL

I know this sort of a habit may seem crude, pathetic and maybe even vulgar to some of you, but I would like to get your opinions on adult thumb-sucking - believe me, there are HEAPS of us around! *wink*

...and honestly, at the end of the day - isnt sucking your thumb a much more docile addiction to have than alcohol or drugs?

Oh and of course, I still carry the same blankie to bed with me every night, that I had when I was born *g*

Recently I was asked what made me stand out from everyone else in the room. At the time I couldn’t think of anything. Thinking back I’m still not sure if there is anything that makes me better than anyone else in the room or anywhere else. Every one likes to think that they are special. But what is it that makes a person special? Why do we have a need to be different? I have never met a single person that says that they don’t want to be different Nobody says that they aspire to be average. Every one wants to leave their mark on the world. But how can every one be different from the billions of people alive and the billions of people that have lived.?

I have noticed a disturbing amount of people that believe strongly in "that which has not yet or cannot be proven" (i.e. Fairies, Aliens, Ghosts, The Big G) and yet swear up and down that such disorders as panic, depression, or phobias are not real. Are we going backwards in understanding mental health in this country?

Ever since I was young I have had dreams of huge diasters. I had a dream of a tornado, a bridge collaspe and of 3 building falling in a major city.
The tornado dream happened the next day; exactly as it occured in the dream. The bridge collapse dream came true a few months later. Of course 9-11 attacks happened involving 3 buildings collapsing in a major city. The dream even stated that this diaster would happen in around 200 days. I had my dream in march 2001 and 9-11 happened 192 days later. I have had dreams of nuclear attacks one where I was at a mall nearby. I had another dream of a bridge collapse in my area. Several of floods in my area. All these dreams happen at real locations and follow logical patterns in life. My last dream was of a flood happening at my apartment complex. It was so real I had to get up twice to make sure it really was a dream. Am I somehow predicting future events in my dreams or are these just my sub concious fears?

I had a dream that I asked one of my friends I hadn't talked to in a while to marry me (I'm a guy, asking her to marry me). So my dream goes straight to my wedding day. I'm wating and really nervous and it turns out she doesn't show. For some reason the ceremony continues and I get married to nobody. I call her afterwards and she just says "Yeah...about that". Then I go to my reception (after marrying nobody) and my family congratulates me. I say thank you to everyone, but I'm the only one to realize how messed up this is. Then I woke up.

sorry, when reading literature on other peoples research on a particular topic...they measure it through whatever type of methodology they use.

Some say this is the operationalization of the topic= meaning how they measure that variable to find the answer to answer the subject of their research question.

For example if I wanted to find out the operationalisation of social capital using the variable …lets use for example – the impact of abusive parent on children’s social capital- as the variable

Some say using abusive parent (the variable) to MEASURE social capital is DIFFERENT the operationalization of social capital.

Methodology to use is impact of abusive parent on the childs social capital VS the operationalization of social capital- IS THERE any difference?......I’ve always thought the operationlisation and the methodology used to measure social capital are the same.

How is this so?...and sorry if this is confusing.

Women in my social class (which is determined by things completely out of my control) aren't as intelligent, fit or sophisticated as myself.
It is really difficult to be happy with such a poor selection of women.
I would like to have a relationship with someone fit before I die.
