MONEY CANNOT BUY HAPPINESS.
MONEY IS IMPORTANT IF YOU NEED IT.
THE RICHER YOU ARE THE MORE YOU WANT.
MATERIALISM IS WHAT BECOMES IMPORTANT.
TO ME: IF I HAVE MONEY TO PAY BILLS, THIS IS ALL I NEED.
FAMILY IS FIRST. WITHOUT FAMILY THERE IS REALLY NOTHING. MONEY THEN BECOMES SECONDARY AND HAPPINESS IS ACHIEVED.

---to God: you are rude huh!! tsk tsk.. but good thing you said that, a thumb up for you---
my answer---
Yes. The rich will be happy having the social norm that money is not important. So to speak, the rich will have no hard time to prove that they're following the norms of the society... it's concealed, to have money is no important... they won't have problem, because they have money. Chances are the poor become deviant, since money is a big deal for the poor. hmph... i should find conceivable statement for this.. but the bottom line is.. i believe rich people are happy that if money-is-not-important-thing is a social norm.

If you earn 100 $ but spend only, say 89 $ you are rich and you will be happy.
But even if you earn 10000 $ and spend 12000 $ you are poor and (may) be unhappy!
You can not conclude that the social norm is to say money is not important! For many people money is not important. Note that even these people will NEED money, but it is needed only for some more important purpose in life.

Money makes everything work. It becomes the most important thing in your life when you have a family, as opposed to just being born into one. The "rich" don't have to work for their money so its easy to say its not important to them.

American society has a lot of values or ideals that conflict with our practices and reality. We do like to say that "money isn't everything" or that it can't buy happiness, but we are, at our core, a capitalistic society that values consumption of goods and basis status on wealth and the acquisition of material items.
However, wealthy people have a higher rate of suicide than poor people.

priorities that every1 has in their life whether they admit it or deny it:
1) health
2) money
3) family and friends
a person may say that friends and family are faaaar more important than money, yet if they faced a situation that concerns money and friends, the choice is always money. the movie Indecent proposal covers that subject perfectly

Reply to person right above.
Would you honestly rather have no friends and family and be rich or no money and have friends and family.
