I had a dream that I asked one of my friends I hadn't talked to in a while to marry me (I'm a guy, asking her to marry me). So my dream goes straight to my wedding day. I'm wating and really nervous and it turns out she doesn't show. For some reason the ceremony continues and I get married to nobody. I call her afterwards and she just says "Yeah...about that". Then I go to my reception (after marrying nobody) and my family congratulates me. I say thank you to everyone, but I'm the only one to realize how messed up this is. Then I woke up.

Carl Jung believed that dreams are the window to our subconcious... so lets see whats on your mind, shall we...

First of all, you dreamt of your friend who is a girl. You mentioned you have not talked to her. did you used to be closer then you are? A wedding is usually a symbol of a new beginning or a closure of some sort. When anxiety is present, then there may be some anxiety involving this closure of new beginning. Did you possibly have a fight, or tension when you last spoke and maybe you are wanting to say something to her to move on from the situation. Her not showing and acting so casual about it could be because she is the one who is angered or tense and is treating you with some sort of indifference. You are tiring of this, so are ready to move on, hense getting married alone.

You family congratulating you signifies that your family is supporting you moving on from this situation. Maybe you keep inside how much this has bothered you, hense you being the only one who notices how screwy getting married, to nonbody is, or it could be that everyone that loves you are non biased to the tension between the two of you, so they are not noticing.

Either way, it sounds as if you are ready to move on from a situation that has to do with your friend. You are greatful to your family, but confused by their nonbiased views.

Hope I helped!

Assuming that in real life you have a normal, healthy friendship with this woman, and not a highly conflicted or painful relationship, I have two ideas.

There are two main themes: a vital missing ingredient and betrayal. Going with the missing ingredient, something she represents to you has gone missing in your life. This might be a value, like honesty, honor, etc., or a character trait, or maybe something else.

Going with the betrayal theme, she might represent some way you have betrayed yourself or your values. No one else knows about this, so you find yourself living a lie for some reason.

Another take on everyone's cluelessness is that it's not others who are ignorant, but your conscious mind that is avoiding or denying the issue.

You have thought of calling your friend to talk to her but you're worried that she will be indifferent to you. As time passes by, you seem to be the only person to realize that she is missing from your life which means she is more significant to you than other people (or maybe even you) realize. Call her just to say hi and see what happens. You might be pleasantly surprised and if not, at least you have resolved your hidden fear about her 'reception' to your call ----- for 'better or worse'.

Bro the dreams come when we have messed up thoughts which we think about in the daytime and are disrupted suddenly due to various reasons, for example, u were daydreaming or thinking of something and then someone calls your name, your phone rings, doorbell rings, your hear some noise, etc. The brain completes these thoughts on the basis of its experience of our daily life affairs. It seems u kept thinking about proposing her but always left the thought midway, thus your brain processed it to give you a completed thought with a clear picture.. Good Luck.

Don't you hate it when you wake up just as you're about to make sense of it all? Sometimes you don't quite wake up, like the time I let my alarm ring for several minutes while I tried to figure out how to program it to go off at a more convenient time.

Why don't you ask her what it might mean?
