Recently I was asked what made me stand out from everyone else in the room. At the time I couldn’t think of anything. Thinking back I’m still not sure if there is anything that makes me better than anyone else in the room or anywhere else. Every one likes to think that they are special. But what is it that makes a person special? Why do we have a need to be different? I have never met a single person that says that they don’t want to be different Nobody says that they aspire to be average. Every one wants to leave their mark on the world. But how can every one be different from the billions of people alive and the billions of people that have lived.?

Standing out doesn't have to involve the physical appearance. Maybe someone stated the question to you like that based on their visual interpretations of uniqueness.

I personally don't stand out that much in a crowd, based on appearances. I dress smart/casual, I shave my head, and I'm a little taller than most. What makes me stand out though is my personality. People don't give me a second look when I walk into a room, yet I find them flocking around me once I start talking. I tend to have attention gravitiate towards me when I'm social.
I think what makes me unique and different from everyone else (lets face it, none of us are the same) is my social nature, my depth of character and congruence.

Odd but very cool question.

Stand out..... hummm what? like a sore thumb?

Your right every one wants to be different, but why do you think that is.........

Baby boomers brought that consept in. And they failed to fulfill the "better life" as they thought possible. They were wrong. And they havn't admitted to us nor fixed us. So here we are standing on guard for nothing.

Lets go back to the old ways with the added twist and carry on like we should be. or perhaps the Knowold school. (grin)

Who can help us get there? well... I can tell you.... Our parents need to get together from all over the world, and meet with our grand and great grandparents and fix the **** they broke. So that we can build a better place for our children and our childrens children and so on.

Plus, we might be able to find some peace for ourselves before it's our turn to pass the dutchy.

Why stand out when I could stand strong within.

I have been told many times that I stand out because I have a friendly personality and a nice smile. I never try to copy celebrities or famous people, I just enjoy being me. People are too caught up in popularity, fashion and fads. Everyone should just be natural and try to be the best person they can be. It's works for me.

Well, let's see... I registered my first patent for an invention when I was 13.

I suppose anything you do that goes beyond people's expectations of you makes you special.
