Why do you know that it's real? I've seen some funny hypnotists but find it a bit too hard to believe.

I've always been afraid of change. I don't know why either. I moved everywhere as a child and my parents were constantly together and apart, i lived with different people all the time. So i don't know why it is such a fear now that i am older. But it prevents me from doing alot of things i want to do. Like moving somewhere, or changing jobs. The thought of the dramatic change itself intimidates me and i chicken out.
I've had to leave a job before because I wasn't moving up at all and found myself working way too many hours. It took alot of me but I got another job.
Now i have to leave my new job (been there only a year) because they are cutting hours and slowly going out of business. Then my husband comes home to tell me of this great place he wants to move to thats better and cheaper. I don't know if i will be able to carry through with this?
help!!??

I have a huge fear of bees, spiders, dark, heights, bats, mosquitos, etc. Whenever i see something like a bee, i instantly freak out. I was with my parents once and we were eating hotdogs, a bee came by and i started going insane throwing food everywhere >.<

I cant calm down!! Im like paranoid :P I see something flying, my brain automatically registers that its a bee and i freak out. Same with spiders. I always look behind my back because im so cautious.

Ahh whats wrong with me?! I need to find a way (other than listening to music on my ipod, which works) to calm down and be less stressed about it.

i'm a single mother of a new baby. i earn $2,050 / month BEFORE taxes. what is the point of working when i lose out on free medicaid ( $350 savings on health insurnace premiums), pracitcally free day care ( a $500 savings) and FREE formula from the WIC program ( a $300 value). so if im going to save $1250 a month in free stuff for quitting my job, and I only earn $1500 anyways, then why would i work?? so isnt the opportunity cost so great, that any sensible person would quit the job?

I dont just mean for people to think your ''hot'' i mean for people to feel comfortable oround you and just like and respect you. I want to be someone that noone would be afraid to talk to or someone that evryone thinks highly of. I want to be beautiful inside and out. You know how some people have a, almost a glow to them that makes people want to be with them, what is it that people love so much?

I mean, people always make generalizations and think that all Autistic people have the same charactaristics. They think everyone with Autism is dumb or that Autism needs to be 'cured.' It doesn't! It just needs to be understood. I actually saw a question that used Autism as an insult!! I myself am Autistic; I published a book, skipped seventh grade, and have an IQ range of 150-180. Yes, I am not the most socially connected person in this beautiful Universe, but I do have feelings. I would give just about anything to be understood. I think people should focus more on trying to LEARN about Autism, instead of trying to 'cure' it.

This has been the weekend from Hell. People who I deeply thought I could trust are showing other sides to themselves, which makes me wonder how naive I may actually be. My nature is to be honest and to trust what other people tell me. Perhaps unconditional acceptance is not a good policy. I am getting some very mixed signals and, once again, as the saying goes, "The best laid plans of mice and men.....". I am now wondering if life is just a serious of problems and disappointments and then you just get 'offed'. Any ideas??

How come all these offers have mispelled words and lack of spaces in some spots? Note that I am supposed to keep it confidential and not tell anyone. What do you think of this? It looks official?

I frequently see people attack comedians like Dave Chappelle and Paul Mooney as "racist" (rather than racial) comedians.

Racist humor uses detrimental and oppressive stereotypes which reinforce the political and social power of a dominant class, while racial humor is simply commenting on this inequity.

Do you understand the difference? If so, why do you think so many people can't see the difference?

I had a dream the other night where my sister told me our father, who is deceased, visited her in her dreams and told her something. The next morning, my sister sent me a text message that her daughter, who's father passed away two nights before, was visited in her dreams by HER father that night. Remember, no conversation between me and my sister took place. I DREAMED she told me about her dream about our father, and the same night my niece said her father visited her in her dream, get it? Does it mean something, or did the recent death of her father trigger my dream and the rest is just coincidence?

The above link holds studies indicating that ovulating women in long term relationships have a preference for dominant males.

"This preference was not shown by women at other points in their cycle. What's more, the effect was only significant for women in long-term relationships"

Ok, ovulating I get because of hormonal influences, but why would a woman's relationship status affect her preference?

Side note: Interesting how this study seems to show that single non-ovulating women (ovulation taking up only aprox 3 days out of every 28 day cycle) are indifferent to dominance.

I mean, when supply is scarce, demand increases. Consequentlly the price then goes up, right?

ok so what is the reason that the price has to automatically go up?
Isnt this simply greed (all moral impliacations aside)

Or in a more sequential/specific sense, is the cause of rising prices ONE persons greed (and then the rest have to match prices to break even)

Is this accurate, in economic sense?

I'm 34 and I have no friends. I used to have lots of friends as a kid but since then stopped making them. I've also never really had a boyfriend. There's something abnormal about me but I can't pinpoint it. Would a therapist be helpful? What kind of therapist?
