There is a theory that visualizing anything can bring it into reality. Visualize and tell yourself that you feel great and you will feel great. Act as if. I used this when I had a pain recently. It works.

I can say that, Lauren. is closer to what you are looking for. she is right. I know because I have been threw lots of pain, so much that it got to the point to where, should I say. start to ignore the pain. and it does work. it may not remove all the pain but you can control most of it. at least to the point where it will not continue to be on your mind.

now, I do think it may have something to deal with the type of injury a, person had. my injury was from a fall that broke both ankles. bones had to be removed, because the Doc. said' too, many bones were dead.

I never even knew bones would die, I never heard of such a thing. but they had to be taken out.
I soon began, to be able to control the pain. yes, they were giving me all kinds of pain killers. but the pain would never stop. yes, at times the medication would knock me out, and I did not feel the pain. that was also, the only way I got any sleep. but the pain always came back as you wake up.
So' I had to cope with it.

This is what I believe, from my experience. a person should be able to control pain. threw your mind. I do not know how it works but, when you get to the point that you can no longer, Handel the pain, you just give up. in a way. you see there is not any point in fighting something that will never stop. so your subconscious takes over, and you feel, as if to ignore the pain. as I said, it does not go completely away. but it was gone, enough to where I did not have to take pain killers. any longer. yes, I still had the pain. but it was enough to cope with, on my own. it just was not as bad as it was before. soon the Doc. asked me if I was better. and could not understand, how I was feeling so much better. for he could see no change. in the situation. I did not tell him, for I felt he would not believe, me anyway. so I kept it to myself.

But I hope no one ever has to go threw that type of pain.

Take Care,

Think beyond. I was in labor naturally and instead of letting the pain get to me i tried to understand it break it down almost as if i were tasting something . Deep inside i thought of where the pain is coming from how the body lets it loose and how the mind interprets

easy mind over matter... using that i just taught myself to not feel the pain: physical... u just think its nothing it doesnt hurt and slowly u believe it and the pain goes... or u just learn to endure it and dnt let it bug u think of each time u get hurt as a challenge to see how much u endure
Emotionall: thats tricky but if u try hard u just mentally block everything that causes pain memories and thoughts... each time u might think of wat hurts u just focus on something else dnt stress ur mind...

Dnt be decieved if others say they cant feel pain it doesnt go away its always there u just learn to divert ur mind and think of other things... (unless ofcourse they have a problem with their nervous system) but basically mind over matter...

Can learn "biofeedback": gradual mental control over "noticing" or paying attention to it. Must be taught by a GOOD practitioner.

Well, you can't really control pain, but you can learn to minimize its effect on you simply by having a strong mental mindset when in pain. I deal with pain while running, for instance, by focusing on the beneficial effects of running.

Supposedly some people can control their perception of pain through meditation.

Some people are blessed with high pain thresholds. Some people are cursed with low pain thresholds. Sadly I fall in the latter category.

There are plenty of people who swear by acupuncture as a way of controlling pain without drugs.
