I've always been afraid of change. I don't know why either. I moved everywhere as a child and my parents were constantly together and apart, i lived with different people all the time. So i don't know why it is such a fear now that i am older. But it prevents me from doing alot of things i want to do. Like moving somewhere, or changing jobs. The thought of the dramatic change itself intimidates me and i chicken out.
I've had to leave a job before because I wasn't moving up at all and found myself working way too many hours. It took alot of me but I got another job.
Now i have to leave my new job (been there only a year) because they are cutting hours and slowly going out of business. Then my husband comes home to tell me of this great place he wants to move to thats better and cheaper. I don't know if i will be able to carry through with this?
help!!??

Try to look for the positive side of all of this, a new adventure, new friends, a chance to have a new and possibly better network of people to associate with. Change is always hard but it is always part of life. Technology is one thing that keeps on changing and we change, learn, and grow along with it.

I know what you are going through, the thought of change to me as well makes me so scared and I just want to go hide in a dark corner somewhere. Change is a constant thing and we can not stop it no matter how hard we try. The best thing about change is the you are growing stronger. My therapist once said to me that if I am uncomfortable then I am doing a good job and change is an uncomfortable thing. So if you are uncomfortable then you are doing a good job yourself. I hope that this helped some.

the instability as a child did not allow you to feel safe, surrender to the unknown is to Trust in the Source of the Universe or what ever you call the ultimate Creator. We often impose the image of our parents on the God force which is an untruth. In actuality our parents are just older sisters and brother of a very large family. I think it stands at about 6 1/2 billion in our family now.

I can understand you hating change because or all the chaos you were subjected to during your childhood.

Rely on your husband. If he says it'll be okay, believe him. Freak out a few times if you have to, or go see a psychologist, but don't let this rule your life.

This kind of fear is very hard to overcome...any fear has to be overcome by facing it, facing it, and facing it again...have you thought about talking to a Life Coach? That was a fantastic move for me. If you want to chat about it, email me. Good luck!
