I do my best but I am getting nowhere. I used to be thin. I would finish whatever I set my mind to do. I was happy and confident. Now since I have met my soon to be ex-husband, my "luck" has changed. I am sad all the time. I can't do anything right. I have no get up and go. I don't even have the energy to do anything. I know it sounds like depression but I really mean that bad things have been happening. My ex is attacking and I am struggling to survive day to day in every aspect. It just seems like nothing will ever get better and I am stuck in a mess for good. I am not just feeling sorry for myself. People that meet me laugh about the bad luck I have just in day to day things. What is going on?

I've recently been under a lot of stress caused by a combination of extreme external and internal pressures. The external is nothing i can change on my own. I have no control over the stupidity of certain circumstances,or of certain individuals that i have to have dealings with. But i know that changing my outlook or the inward thoughts/attitudes when dealing with some nonsense would help decrease the amount of stress i am feeling. this is anxiety correct? I've tried a number of things...... but nothing's worked.
Other than medication, can you suggest ways to de-stress that would releive some of the prevalent anxiety i am dealing with?
i would see medication as a last resort, i'd prefer other alternatives. what are natrual ways to deal with unnecessary stess and strife stemming from the actions of other people that i've no control over, and thats causing a high (unhealthy) level of anxiety? so i dont go totally bonkers please?

Do you think that younger people (say 12-25) almost instinctively expect attention, interest or notice from most if not all older people (say 35-55) (even if from complete strangers)?

If you do, then do you think this expectation derives from western culture's huge emphasis on instilling self-esteem into kids at any cost as they grow up?

Finally, if you agree with the above, then as older person OR younger person, do you find the assumption of interest and attention a little bit annoying?

For the past year, I have felt very depressed. Low self-confidence, not wanting to get out of bed, losing interest in things I used to love, losing relationships with friends, constant sadness/anger, irritability, etc. I have tried to clue my mom in that I am depressed, even tried kidding around, but I don't know how to flat out say it. I would like to visit a doctor and possibly be treated, but I am too embarrassed.

I'd like to note that 3 people in my immediate family (out of 5) have been diagnosed with depression.
I am 15.

I was severely depressed a month and a half ago. I let myself get sexually taken advantage by my boyfriend and than I broke up with him but to make it worst BEGGED him to take me back. He of course did not because he was never serious about me..

Than there was my ex ex boyfriend, the one before this one.. We went out very beriefly but things ended rather abruptly. So I called him 2 years later to find some sort of closure. He agreed to meet up with me. We had our first kiss together that night! It was amazing. I text him a couple of days later "I wish i kissed you longer" and He text back '"Yea it was good" and than text again "I wish it was longer" Now, today, he text me if I wanted to hang out and I said sure but I have an early curfew but he never got back to me ALL DAY! He is leaving for college tomorrow. I guess I was just a BOOTY CALL. In all honesty, I felt like he was the love of my life..I never stopped caring/loving for him..I know its crazy but I felt like he was the one.

I saw this lady on tv who was convicted of rape but was atrracted. NOT because she raped because i was young and saw it through my view. Not from her point of view but mine. I did not like what she did. its not even possible for me too. It repulses me. When young i diddnt think how sick she was and how wrong she was. I was just thinking about my own fantasy about older women. I feel scared. I cannot believe i didnt see how messed up this person was. I diddnt even know. Does this make me a wrong person? Im really upset over this. I have really bad OCD and cant get it out of my head. I did not like what she did. That wasnt my intention. I saw it my own view when i was younger and wasnt mature enoguh to see how sick she was and see it her way. Someone please help.

Let's say Neanderthals were still alive today and a person kill one of them, would it be murder or animal cruelty? I mean even though they are so closely related to us they are not really considered fully human. What do you think?

People always say this person has a "good" personality and this person has a "bad" personality. What do they really mean by that? Is there any ways in which I can develop a good personality and yet not be looked down on or teased by other people. I feel like I'm going in the wrong direction from the quiet, shy, and educated me to something I'm not. It makes me feel like a fool and gets me into so much trouble. Do you guys have any suggestions?

What is the difference between character and personality?

I'm not asking if someone could have more addictive tendencies, or even things such as depression that could run in the family. I'm asking along the lines of more of a personality trait, such as coldness, a cheery outlook, a "wild child" when the adoptive parents are reserved, things like that. Is it the environment that shapes things like that, or could it be that genetics shape a personality?

Seems like you never actually "make" money in value.

I put in an inflation calculator $100 from 1970 to 2000 and the value today is $432

Then I put $100 in a 5% savings from 1970 to 2000 and the value was $436.

So what's the point?

Wouldn't the safer bet just be to buy gold and sell it later as the value would fairly remain the same. Plus the gold would be acceptable internationally if the value of the dollar plummets.

Am I thinking of this wrong??

Thanks.

Is it just the nature of the world to compound several crises into one day/week, or is it just that the stress of the first problem makes everything that comes after it seem way more important and stressful than it really is?

What do you think?

What are your views on abortion? Why do you feel this way?
P.s. Look at my answers to previous questions on this issue (especially the "What's going on tonight" question) and you'll see where I stand with this. I think it's interesting how strongly people feel about this issue, and how closed minded people seem to me about others' opinions (bc they feel so strongly).
What do you think (either way)? I don't pass judgement.

Characteristics are: this individual makes another person the focal point of all their hatred? (goes beyond scapegoating). The individual displays narcissitic and egocentrical characteristics, that are borderline delusional, and psychotic; (as in a grandiose).
They are consumed with an abnormal and irrational hatred for another individual that goes beyond a mere dislike for that person, (as in 'enemy') escalating into an imagined irrational personal vendetta such that they are so obssesd with another individual they begin to display 'psychoic behaviours' in so far as stalking that person, (on the job, at their home and in general, in various ways) and do whatever they can to cause and bring destruction and evil into that individual's life. Such as, destroying their reputation with as many people as possible by making up lies about them, and literally stalking that individual (enlisting others to find out 'everything' about that person's life, where they are, what theyre doing etc.)

“A man who has not passed through the inferno of his passions has never overcome them. They then dwell in the house next door, and at any moment a flame may dart out and set fire to his own house. Whenever we give up, leave behind, and forget too much, there is always the danger that the things we have neglected will return with the added force.”
