I've recently been under a lot of stress caused by a combination of extreme external and internal pressures. The external is nothing i can change on my own. I have no control over the stupidity of certain circumstances,or of certain individuals that i have to have dealings with. But i know that changing my outlook or the inward thoughts/attitudes when dealing with some nonsense would help decrease the amount of stress i am feeling. this is anxiety correct? I've tried a number of things...... but nothing's worked.
Other than medication, can you suggest ways to de-stress that would releive some of the prevalent anxiety i am dealing with?
i would see medication as a last resort, i'd prefer other alternatives. what are natrual ways to deal with unnecessary stess and strife stemming from the actions of other people that i've no control over, and thats causing a high (unhealthy) level of anxiety? so i dont go totally bonkers please?

yoga and meditation. I have Generalized Anxiety Disorder. I do yoga medtation and i pray 5 times a day. No I am not muslim but I do this as sort of a therapy session to release all my thoughts. I also journal at night before I go to bed so that all my thoughts come out in some way so i don't lay awake all night. I am also on a low dose of anxiety meds. That really helps me. And I see a therepist. Ithink everyone should see a therapist. Good luck.

very good that you are no succuming to pressures of the pharmaceutical co. marketing tactics. congratulations!
id have to stay ignore the people giving u stress. just do ur own thing. picture their actions as a rubber ball, if they throw the ball to you and u make like a wall and ignore it, their actions will only bounce back to them lol.
now if u catch it, you are participating in their negativity.
if its a continuous stream of crap that they give you, try putting on headphones or go for a walk...exercise..listen to music. find a passion..something u can do for hours but feel like minutes: painting? playing an instrument?

try yoga. sit down & close ur eyes, preferably dark & noiseless room. just concentrate on ur breath, it is the only sound u should be hearing, don't think about anything else (it's not difficult, but u will take 2-3 sittings to really be calm)

loosen ur jaw muscles, loosen ur forehead, & just sit there for 5-10 mins, if posible 2 times a day.

Take a walk in the woods. Stick your feet in a cool stream.
Take a shower or a hot bath. Go for a swim and relax by the beach. Pet your dog.

Take a vacation - two week to somewhere natural with lots of trees or sea. tranquil place. it calm you like magic. when you return, your battery is fully charged.

believe me, i feel stress and occupied - the world is so small. when i go travel to seaside or forest place for few day - no other electronical item like hp or tv. i was charged up.

eat you favorite foods, take a walk, DANCE! when you dance, so feel sexy, and when you feel sexy, your positive and love yourself, so you'll be happier. head to the SPA! just relax. read a good book or watch a funny movie. make sure that the book you read though isn't too heavy or depressing or reminds you of any of your worries. SMILE at people, they will smile back. I hope you get better!!! :]
