I'm very introverted, and want to change that before I go back to college this summer, because currently I have no close friends, I have people I chat and talk to here and there, but no strong friendships and I want that to change, what can I do? I'm not really a social creature, what can I do to make myself a social creature and actually have some fun this semester.

Years ago, when we had just 2 children I had a dream that there was a fire. My husband smokes and I come from a family of firefighters, so I am always afraid my husband cigarette will accidently catch something on fire.

One night I had a dream of a fire. In my dream I went downstairs and I was trying to figure out where the fire was (it was a dream afterall, so it was not obvious at first.) I first looked outside where my husband smokes, there was no fire there, but there were firemen rushing past me, going inside my house. So I looked at them, they went in the hallway and pointed towards the bathroom.

I woke up right at that moment. I could not shake it, and HAD to get up and look around our home for a fire. I checked on the kids, then went downstairs. No fire. I looked outside where my husband smokes, no fire. So remembering what was in my dream, I went towards the bathroom. The iron had been left ON in there and the bathroom was hot. No fire, but still, scary!

I'm pretty sure most would agree that teenage years are HELL, but let's imagine for a moment that you could go back and pass on words of wisdom you have since gained in adulthood onto your teenage self...What would you say? And do you think your 13 year old self would listen?

(I realize that this question hardly applies to G&WS but the question board is so dead, i thought it couldn't hurt to add a little variety lol)

Also can a Psychologist diagnose you after just meeting once? I had to take this series of personality tests and it was right after a major tragedy happened in my life so my scores for depression, anger, and anxiety were really high, in fact the test should have been considerd invalid and done over because of the scores being so high on some of the scales the test was invalid.

Gold was confiscated from every american citizen in the 1930's under the guise of getting the impoverished people out of the great depression. Since we are no longer on the gold standard since 1971, why is all that gold still supposedly sitting in Fort Knox? What do they need it for anymore? Shouldn't it have been redistributed to the citizens when we moved to a Fiat currency? Thanks!

So that we not only don't make that mistake again but we learn how to cope and help others. My question to you is, when do we learn to stop making those mistakes, and start learning? When do we remove the training wheels? Most people think love is one HUGE learning lesson.. but we just stated above you cant learn unless you make a mistake.so why walk willingly into a mistake you know you'll just wind up getting hurt from? No one thinks mistakes are mistakes at the time that they walk into them... so why walk? why not just sit and wait. seems logical. but in my mind, waiting doesnt make life worth living. been there, done that, sucked ***. But id we walk and walk into mistakes we know damn well we are going to make why dont we better protect ourselves? They say that you should love like you never loved before. Run wide eyed into a battle and not think twice. but why do we do this? what makes this new person make us think it'll be so much better with them? what justifies time to move on?

Just something I noticed- the media never seems to pick on heavy black women. Look at Queen Latifa- she's absolutely beautiful, but no one could say she's a tiny little thing. (I know there are more, but I don't really follow any sort of celebrities, so I don't know names) As soon as a white woman gets a little cellulite, its all over the tabloids. I can't really think of a successful heavy white woman that isn't considered butch. It seems like they have to be anorexic to be popular. Has anyone else noticed that? Anyone have a theory as to why?

Have you ever had a moment when you made a fool of yourself while your crush was watching, or something else that would turn your face BRIGHT red? Well, this is the place to tell! It doesn't matter if it is REALLY embarrasing 'cause everyone has those moments. For instance, When I was in elementry school, I fell right in front of my friends, my crush, and his friends! Everyone laughed, and my face hurt from turning red more than my knee from when I fell!

friends. Ever time I make a friend, I end up being used and abused. I'm at the end of my rope. I hate this society, I hate the way we are all so isolated from each other. I live in a building with tons of people, but everyone keeps to themselves. I feel like I'm just killing time until death takes me away from here. Can you offer any suggestions for me?

According to numerous the Herodotus the Kushites were the forefathers of the ancient Egyptians living south of the border and that Egypt was a Kushite colony. "[The Ethiopians] say that the Egyptians are settlers from among themselves and that Osiris was the leader of the settlement. The customs of the Egyptians, they say, are for the most part Ethiopian, the settlers having preserved their old traditions. For to consider the kings gods, to pay great attention to funeral rites, and many other things, are Ethiopian practices, and also the style of their statues and the form of their writing are Ethiopian. Also the way the priestly colleges are organized is said to be the same in both nations. For all who have to do with the cult of the gods, they maintain, are [ritually] pure: the priests are shaved in the same way, they have the same robes and the type of scepter shaped like a plough. Upper Egypt in ancient times extended well into what is now the country of Sudan (known in ancient times as Nubia or Kush). It was from Upper Egypt (Nubia or Kush) that the first pharaoh of Egypt Narmer (also known as Menes) went out to conquer and unify all of Egypt into one nation or kingdom. It was from here (the South) that the original ancestors of the Egyptians, following the direction of the Nile River north, settled the land of Egypt. The Egyptians themselves recorded in their writings that their ancestors came from the south. For example, the Edfu text (which is an inscription still found in the Temple of Horus at Edfu) states: "Several thousand years ago, we were led by our king from the South to settle up the Nile Valleys."
