I have been a professional for years but still do not have my degree. (Forever a college Junior.) I had an opportunity to teach at a University about dyslexia and just found out the first person who told me I didn't have to have a degree was wrong. I spent weeks preparing for this interview and developing the course. I have helped countless kids learn to read over the years and all my information was dismissed because I don't have a piece of paper hanging on my wall.

I was upfront about the fact I did not have a degree and the nice lady said it was not a problem. I just got home from my interview and I'm in a puddle of tears. Sometimes it seems I just can't get ahead. I feel hopeless. I have to pay my student loan back before I can go back to school. That could take a while.

Sorry to be so down. I'm not usually like this. I just needed someone to tell me it will be OK.

You may know that surnames were not always around, some time ago they were given to familys and their surname was relevant to a job that they may have had or a location etc. (the name Smith was derived from the title of blacksmith for example) but does anyone know what the surname "Keenan" could have, or did, come from.

I'm Irish and have an Irish background if that helps.

Thanks very much :-)

I've never been considered a dyme or anything, I'm not ugly but I'm not a girl you would see on the street and go damnnnnnnnnn she's fine. Everytime I see one of those girls I remember that I'm not her and probably never will be. I'm a plus size girl this is an issue, I'm biracial this is an issue, and I'm officially an old maid this year~~no kids and still not married. I'm feeling pretty low about myself today, especially at the start of the Fall trimester and these beautiful 21 year olds are gracing the hallways of school. Whats a vette to do?

Have you seen or met someone who looks exactly like you but both of you are not related? I have seen someone who looked exactly like me but we aren't related and we have different parents.
