I am 52 years old an not a day goes by that I miss the opportunity to expand my knowledge.
Today my physician discussed with me the Do Not Resuscitate form and taught me how to fill it out. Also learned some interesting facts about 9/11 I did not previously know.

never judge people before you get to know them, today i came face to face with an elderly neighbour who i have lived near for 5 years and have never spoken to, i had been told via the neighbourhood grape vine that she was rude arrogant and that she detested young people but when i smiled at her she smiled back and said hello and we had a very pleasant conversation and she was so sweet and kind but very lonely because no one ever gave her the time of day so what you hear from others is not always the reality

I've learnt that no matter how much you want someone to be how you expect, that their life and percept is unique to them, so they will live their life in their own way from their understanding and perceptions of life. No matter how much you try to make them see something they cannot see it until they live it, percieve and develop their own hypothesis.

There's a time to give advice and a time to just sit and listen. I heard on tv earlier it is good to counsel someone but sometimes it's better to cry with them.
