very cruel..........it's all about competition. Gotta be prettier, gotta have the best body, hair, make-up, lips, butt, BOOBS, etc. Gotta be the better mom, it's all competition and it all started because of MEN

If they are, they are very cruel... but if they side with each other it's very uplifting... It all depends on so many factors, really... With women a lot of the times the way they respond to each other doesn't have to do with logic... Think about how much stuff a woman has to deal with... including hormones... If the woman is not educated enough to figure out what's wrong with the way she feels and can't keep herself in control it will lash out on the other woman, and go on for ages. If a woman feels threatened in any way she will beciome like a tigress... ready to devour anything that stands in her way... and so many times it's the one that doesn't give up wins... (in a way)... Social skills have a lot to do with the way react to each other. There's always competition amongst women... more or less. If you're a wife, it will be about what kind of stud you married, if you're a mom it will most likely be about whose kids are better, smarter, cuter...etc...
If you're a teenager, you're either proud to be a geek, or proud to be a slut, and every other woman is going to envy you for something... There's a time in a woman's life when she gets it, and from there on, life is worth living. So many women are hit with a certain experience that will help them sort out which things are worth fighting for, and which don't deserve attention...
Women are highly emotional snd so much more in touch with their emotions... They can either express themselves using those emotions, or they can manipulate others with them...
It takes knowing oneself to really have a grip on what's going on...
Reality check works for some... for others, never... education is the key... or at least I hope it is.

PEOPLE are cruel to each other.
Men can be cruel to both sexes.
Women tend to be cruel mostly among themselves.
It's the weaknesses in men that allow a woman to find and exploit them.
Strong men are immune from women's cruelty, for the most part.
But a woman is always vulnerable to one of her own sister's spiteful and hateful back-stabbings.

same gender categories often most harshly police same gender performances.
Take body maintenance, hair maintenence, fashion, smells, etc.
in the same fashion though, men police man-gender. If someone deviates from what society has deamed appropriate for those identifying as men, swift action is taken to correct those deviations. such as homophobia. Homophobia is a type of gender enforcement "you're not acting like a 'real' man should act, so you must be gay"
Still, genders police gender regaurdless of whether or not they are the same genders. And any genders (or nongenders) society deams unacceptable, are rendered invisable. The same goes for sexes though. How many people actually would swear that there are only two biological sexes (meaning chromosome patterns)
...there are over 30...

women can be cruel to each other, because women use/depend on emotion. with men, they duke it out and things are over. women would go straight to the heart like talking bad about each other, spread rumors, call each other hurtful things and even exclude their potential enemies from groups or whatever. you want to see an example? watch "cruel intentions" with sarah michelle gellar and reese witherspoon. see how cruel sarah's character was.

in the majority of cases, yes, especially if they're pitted against one another in any type of competition (dating, bar-hopping, careers, family gatherings). i do personally get along best with men rather than women, and i believe it's because of that primal competitive streak. i understand, however, that men can be just as cruel to other men, and can even gossip moreso than the biggest and best group of women. hate to say it, but it's true.

Women can definitely be cruel to each other. We often feel like we have to compete (for jobs, men, attention, whatever). It's completely counterproductive, but it happens.

unfortunately, it can be true, but i believe there is a small revolution happening with women. educating and confirming to ourselves and our sisters that we are in this together . my mother told me there is always going to be someone smarter, prettier, etc. and sometimes its going to be you and other times it wont . does that make a woman any less appealing? no , but it is unattractive to be bitter, cruel and jealous.nothing is more telling than when a female talks crap about another female to a guy and his response is..."ARE YOU JEALOUS?" being self assured shows confidence and the women that are not o.k. with themselves are the ones downing everyone else. there is a great book i believe it is called FEMALE CHAUVINIST PIG. lets end the battle ladies!

they are on the average smarter than men, but when surrounded by other smart women they tend to drop niceties and get vicious and controlling
women can be cruel to anyone, anything just as a guy or other people can be
it just seems more noticeable when women do it as it quickly escalates, men don't get the subtle hints as fast as the women can dish it out

Well, one could say that women are cruel to everyone, men, other women and children. One could also say that women are the root of all evil, women are conniving, women are vicious, and lastly that they can be "catty" to each other. But, generalizations do NOT prove anything.
