After working in a corporate environment for several years, I've found that I've lost my ambition to advance, succeed or improve. I feel that this is mainly due to being beat down by the system during those years, where despite my best attempts to improve myself and my tasks, my attempts went unnoticed or drew only negative response. As a result, I've become cynical, apathetic and have no direction in life. I would like to leave the corporate world and start a business of my own, however with a lack of ambition, I fear that failure would be in order.

Any suggestions on how to regain a positive and ambitious outlook on life?

Don't people understand the advantages and benefits of unionized labor, or are they just complacent and willing to accept being told what their time and effort are worth?

The manufacturing companies say that they can't pay the cost of labor to America's workers, but when overseas labor is a fraction of the cost, the price of their products still goes up.

so self enveloped are we, that i think jesus would come and go without being noticed by the very people who scream his name yet ignore his message everyday.
and if he returned I think Jesus would spend many days crying at the destruction of human will wrought in his name.
jesus would not seek to reach the masses through media.
he might post a question here, but would anyone notice?
does anyone know what question a man/woman pure of heart would ask?
i think they might ask: "Do you love yourself enough to save yourself, not waiting for religion, government or institution?"
Thanx to Yahoo, for this site. Questions and answers are what will bring true redemption to the masses.
Jesus cannot save anyone.
only you can save you.
no?
yes.
I love you all.

I know they are quite beautiful and very sexy. But they mentioned that their act is "empowering" to women. And the implication was to the sexiness of the act. Now I am all for women being comfortable with their bodies and learning grace and confidence. BUT come on... women fighting on the front lines is empowering... women on the cutting edge of science are empowering... all this long legged, tight clothed, dance acts are entertaining but hardly the defintion of empowering.

This obviously didn't occur to me just this morning but this statement by them I think is symptomatic of a larger social state of mind where women are buying into the objectification (is that a word) of their own bodies and consider it empowering. (Like a porn starlet is comfortable with her body, enough to show it of (and no I am not saying that the Pussycat Dolls are pornstars just that they also capitalize on their bodies)).

What do you folks think?

Is there actual SECULAR evidence that Jesus existed? I have always assumed that he did. There is so much written about him that I always presumed that he was a conscientious Jew who fought long and hard to keep his religion on track and available to the poor. It has been suggested that he is a composite figure. If so, a composite of whom? If not, where can I look to find irefutable evidence of his actual existence?

Most mythological figures, it has been shown, evolve from actual people. King Arthur and Hercules were most likely extant human beings and their actual lives were reported and exhaggerated until they grew to mythical status. Is it the same with Jesus? Or, as some claim, is he only a composite?

Check out the "why doesn't drink spill on aircraft" thread. There are some seriously thick people around. Why offer an answer to someones question if you blatantly don't have a clue what you are talking about.
