Madonna is my icon. I have always admired her for her perserverence, her versatility and her confidence to carry through whatever she wants with style.
I think she is my icon for these reasons as well as the fact that she is a strong woman that is not the best singer/performer/beauty but shows that anyone can make it with enough hard work and belief!

I choose my icons or role models according to what do I want to achieve. Like if I want to be a good writer I choose Virginia Woolf as my role model. If I feel weak and want to become stronger I choose Avril Lavigne or Jodie Foster. If I want to feel beautiful I choose Nicole Kidman or Shania Twain, etc. I have lots of role models for several features in them and for my numerous purposes.

Angelina Jolie - she's natural, down to earth. she works hard and is herself regardless of whether it is cool, fashionable etc. plus, she uses her fame and celebrity to bring problems throughout the world to our attention. she seems like a genuine person that isn't the usual 'sheep' celebrity and i think she celebrates differences rather than try to hide them or be embarrassed by them, she is comfortable with who she is and i think she is a great role model for this reason. plus.....she is bloody gorgeous.
