What comes first, Day or Night?

The bible would suggest both. God created Day and Night, together He created them. Or should I say, seperated day from night, so by definition they were both there biblically.

But then, at first darkness hovered over the waters, so, although it wasn't earth, and it wasn't night, it was dark.

Scientifically it would be night as, after the creation of the sun, whatever or however it happened, the light would still take a little time to travel to earth. So, I would say night if I had to, but it isn't night cos there was no day, and I would also say it doesn't really matter.

Additional: If I could point out that all those people who have put 'night, because then God created light', you cant have night without day or day without night, merely sunshine and darkness, so your arguement is flawed and the answer is still, technically niether.

And, out of interest, God created light before He created the Sun.

God said, "Let there be light." Night must have been first.

12 o'clock midnight starts the next day. Still night/dark outside. Night comes first
