Racism will never end because the more it is talk about the less people believe it exist. Some people are even so naive as to believe that the Civil Rights Movement was the end of racism and the beginning of a culture of understanding. As long as people are classified into different ethnic and cultural groups, racism will thrive.

As long as people are around, racism of some sort will be around. We could all be the same color and talk the same way and be the same religion, but people have a way to point fingers at something else. Human nature is such that as long as we have emotions, there will be racism. We need to take the bad with the good, so in a way, we need racism to be a social health indicator. I believe that everyone is capable of some degree of racism, whether they acknowledge it or not. Those that say they don't have any prejudice are not being honest with themselves.

Racism will never end because of the inane nature of the beast. It can only survive when people hate. Look at the immigration fiasco going on now. Why is it always the white republican male that bitches about those damn Mexicans. Look at their eyes when they say ignorant things like "my daddy came here as an immigrant..." or "I don't have a problem with them coming here to work as long as they are here legally," or the best one of all, "they hurt the economy. . ." The only reason they complain is because they're white and Mexicans are not. Plain and simple. The only good that has come from all of this hatred that perverse this country (Listen to any conservative talk radio program to understand where a lot of this hate comes from) is that the white man(conservative)no longer has to hide behind his hood and sheet anymore. The worst thing about modern-day racism is that some, not all, and maybe not even a majority, are Christian-----they hate in the name of God (Westboro Baptist Church for example).
By they way, I'm a white male myself. . .which I'm sure makes me a traitor to the white race But, sorry bubba's, I belong to only one race----the human race.
No my friend, racism will never end as long as there is ignorance and hatred. . . in the name of God.

It's sad but I don't think so...the one fellow below is right, even if we were all the same, people will still find something to separate over. The reason I don't think it will end is because every race has racism within it, whether it is political, financial, etc. If you can't get along with your own people then how will you accept other races. Simple as that! You have to love and accept your own first.
I'm black and we are notorious for discriminating against each other. We need more understanding because we still think that lighter skinned people are superior. Sad! My people need to grown in so many areas but I still love them but it's still sad.
We all just need to accept people for who they are. We have too many other important issues to worry about and this should not be one of them. SAD!!!

Racism is a result of the hierarchical structure of human society. Someone always must be on top and someone must be on bottom. Every single person is guilty of this in one form or another. I think that racism is the result of this due to Colonial and Modern Imperialism. Globalization helps to counterbalance, but over exaggerated patriotism throws more salt in the wound. As I said in the eyes of every single human, as long as one person, family, city, state/province, country, ethnicity is better, then someone else is not quite as good. Here comes racism, sexism, regionalism, homophobia, religious bias, among other things. Think about it.

I think people are inherently racist. Getting rid of racism requires an effort, mainly of education. Those who make the effort can succeed in ridding themselves of racism.
It's fairly obvious that in the past and the present, many people have not made that effort, for a variety of reasons. I see no reason to think that that will not always be the case.

People will always find a group, nitch, click or what ever you want to call it. So if you are not hated for the color of your skin you will be hated for something else.
A big one that no one seems to care about is financial segregation. It seems perfectly fine to be a wealthy person and call the cops if a bum walks into the neighborhood.
The bum is a human just walking down the street but the cops will come and chase him away just like they did the blacks prior to 1960.

I think it will end, if we get rid of the old mentality of who did what, if you look around more younger people don't see racism, until they are exposed to it, so if we stop exposing our children to racism, then it will end, we all learn from what we are taught.

It can end for humans if all the humans died, but it might just survive in other organisms sophisticated enough to understand racism.
